That’s the real question. Florida has a history of covering for criminals and Mullen has a history of ignoring or minimizing sexual assault and rape.

Every recruit and family should be aware of that before sending their sons to Gainesville.

Apparently the football team can't just move a student to a different room. There is a paperwork involved and the school administration has to approve.

It's not like you can just accuse someone of being a bad seed and get what you want even if you're ultimately right.

He probably ends up at SUC.

It actually is a pretty difficult endeavor -- because this isn't like a military installation where you just move a bunk and you're "home". He also needs to have a good reason, because it's also possible that he said he just didn't like Jalon or something along those lines.

At this point we have no idea who said what when or how, and my only point is that. The staff might have thought he was just unhappy, we have no idea if he said that Jalon was doing something to someone. IF that comes out, then it's definitely bad.

It's going to look bad no matter what, though, because the UF Administration didn't relocate a kid from a dorm with a rapist in it and that's simply the final line.

I think Steele is an "all about me" type of player, which probably didn't help him in this situation (probably thought he was doing the same thing right here), but it just can't be downplayed that a dude was trying to get a dorm relocation because his fricking roommate was sexually assaulting people.

Even if it's logical from the staff's standpoint that he's just being bigheaded, the fact of the matter is: He could have easily gotten caught up in this, the girls could have said he didn't do anything, didn't report anything and he's just as fricked as Jalon is right now.

Bad luck for everyone around, Steele would have been good at Florida.

Also just for an update: I've heard Steele is 100% gone, so even though he 'only' entered the portal, there will be no second guessing.

Not wanting to room with someone who can get you into deep legal trouble is definitely an “all about me” attitude.

They can be separate, I had heard through Steele's recruitment the kid was a bit of a headcase. Unrelated to this particular incident, but it doesnt mean Steele CANT be a headcase/all about me person, especially when I heard about that well prior to all this happening.

It's literally in the post itself.

Man, I knew the SEC Rant was a place for absolute fricking morons, but I didn't know multiple people were illiterate.

I complained about it a lot during his recruitment, because we've had several players (Copeland was also one of those types) who had these bizarre recruitments. He made like a 4 minute commitment video to USC only to ultimately sign with Florida. I'm not saying he asked for a relocation because he's bigheaded, I said it's possible that the staff thought this way because of his past -- and that it looks bad for the staff no matter what if they didn't have all of the information.

I am in no way, shape or form blaming him, just explaining what may have happened from the staff's perspective (and that it looks bad no matter what).

Not throwing shade- but a reminder that one low character kid can destroy a locker room . That's why I am sometimes happy to miss on a kid after I see his comments or hear people who coached him or know him talk about his attitude. Nobody would know this more than his roommate.

It's not even a question of character.

Do you know how many people want to change roommates their first month on campus? It's literally an every day request.

This is rough that I have to hold your hand and walk you down the road of a conversation so that you understand the context of the situation.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried and the worst part is you're trying to be right.

Gotta tear him down before you build him back up, right? Fans will always defend the school and popular coach no matter what. Penn state proves that.

Seems clear that Steele was trying to walk a fine line between not snitching on his teammate but also not wanting to get in trouble for whatever that dude has going on.

Tough spot for an 18 year old to be in. Coaches should have come through and didn’t.

The context of the situation is that the UF program is full of criminals and that Mullen has lost control of the HOUSE OF CARDS.

Undoubtedly, and that's why I think it looks bad for the staff. There are some Florida posters who are trying to downplay it by saying "he wanted out any way that he could" (he had a particularly humiliating outing against Van Jefferson in the first months where he was pancaked and it was all over social media) but it just doesn't matter.

In the end he was rooming with a rapist and asked for a relocation, whatever reason there is it's unimportant at this point. I hope it's because he was afraid of competition and was just feeling humiliated over the past instances and not our staff ignoring obvious signs of a rapist, but it'll just come out later.

Florida might wanna talk to their staff about how they're gonna address this on social media. This doesn't seem to be the best available approach.

Sorry, but I had nothing to do with Chris Steele hitting the Transfer Portal. It sucks but that was on him and his family. Not me. I’m also not happy that he is moving on from UF it sucks because it’s a great place.

Look at their history. Not a lot of folks stay on staff over there if they aren’t down with covering for stuff like this.

Don’t forget that Aaron Hernandez killed at least one person while he was a student athlete there.

Wow. Two "it sucks" comments and not even one "best of luck to the young man" or something like that?

You might as well just not even send the tweet.

Your players make up stuff to leave because Kirby lies to them during recruiting. Ours leave because they get punished for doing something which I heard was kind of bull shite. False equivalency at its finest. Steele was seeing first team reps. Wasn't told falsehoods.

So, in your Floriduh opinion, a player should automatically play regardless of how they progress/perform in practice? I hope that Cousin Eddie has that mindset.......and keeps it.
