I will go on record and say, "NO".

"Bama's offense is good. But lsu hasn't been held to 330 yards by a Colorado st. Or 200 yards by va tech. UF's defense is as good as va tech's and lsu ran it at will against them."

"Ran at will"? Since when did 17 points and 175 total rushing yards equate to running a will?

What's funny is that bama fans before the season was claiming to have one of the best wr corp because Cooper had over 1000 yards receiving the year before. Lsu will have two 1000 yard receivers this year. It's like lsu gets penalized because we have TWO nfl Wrs ( talent wise) while bama has zero without a healthy cooper.
Well that's really not an indictment on Bama's WRs and how good they are. They have a whole slate who could be 1000 "yarders" if they weren't 7-8 deep. They do have NFL level talent and the WR position too, more than just Cooper, even if it's not superstar NFL talent.

Overrated or not they have been pretty damn good in the past few years. Just look at LSU this year to see how difficult it is to maintain a top 10 defense.
Bama's been consistent but not spectacular and may have 4 out of 5 NC's. That pretty much sums up the gumps. It is a run that no one thought was possible in this day and age. Until someone beats them (and I hope we do) I don't have a problem giving them props--the team has earned it.

Are you serious? Bama has had two 1000 yards receivers since 2001 but yeah you have multiple guys that could go over 1000. Come on

They're legit, seemed to have improved where they were subpar earlier in the year.
They aren't the typical defense they're usually throwing out but doesn't mean they're overrated.
That's like people thinking SEC defenses are overrated bc this year they're collectively down.

quote:Bama threw for 3000 yards last season. If they threw to two receivers the same % as LSU does, then yeah, that would be multiple guys with over 1000. You seriously don't understand spreading the ball around, Rick?

Yes I'm serious. As Juicy Terry pointed out, there are many targets for Alabama to spread the wealth in the passing game PLUS Bama is run oriented. Alabama has been so good they usually get big leads and go to the run game even more than they already rely on it before they establish a comfortable lead. I don't see how this doesn't make sense? Now, that's not to say that a whole host of Bama receivers aren't capable, because that is rubbish to think they aren't. Norwood, Bell, Cooper, Black, Jones...the list could go on. Each of these WRs are capable of being 1000 yd guys if the set up allowed for it.

It statements like this that make bama fan look like the most biased fan base in cfb. Bell doesn't have 900 yards for his career but yeah he could be 1000 yard receiver.

Wait you think bama has a plethera of sure fire nfl starting Wrs? Bama has one starting wr in the nfl but you think you have multiple ones on the roster now. K

Yes I do. But I also understand lsu having two wr that will start in the nfl and Mett not having to go passed his 2nd read because OBJr or Landry WILL be open. It's laughable that you think that the offensive coaches at bama doesn't want a stand out receiver that can turn a 10 yard slant into a 50 yards td.

quote:You're not this dense, dude. You don't think maybe Mett should have gone past his 2nd read a few times against Ole Miss? That's why LSU lost the game! Ole Miss coaches must be geniuses!

Let's take Tennessee for example. The defensive rank of their opponent has included #4, 6, 23, 31.
Then there is Virginia Tech, with opponent defense ranked 6, 14, 15, 16, 34.
According to some, Ole Miss has the hardest strength of schedule in the nation.
Meanwhile, Auburn has played defenses ranked 24, 30, 45, 95, 96, 110.
