Or a mediocre UNC team that had its entire offense opt out of the Orange Bowl while A&M had no opt outs.

Funny how you refer to Chokelahoma as a "Big 12" team. According to my link, Chokelahoma finished up at #8 that year. Look at that, UTrans ended up at #20 with losses to TCU, blow U and the mighty Iowa St.! UTrans ended up being ranked lower than such notable schools as Liberty, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana and the great Northwestern!
Heck of a year for UTrans!

Ask Greg Sankey and Georgia why they are ducking the Aggies. It’s more likely they don’t want Georgia playing A&M. Too big of a risk of hanging another loss on Georgia. Ruining the Georgia/SEC chances and standings in the CFP.
