BK has been a bad hired from the start. DeBoer isn't at BK level of a bad hired.
He's trending towards having a very similar record across his first two seasons, despite taking over a much better situation.
BK
10-4
10-3
DeBoer
9-4
8-2?

He's actually doing worse than BK.

can't tell you Ole miss sos though
Basically a 2 game season that they went 1-1. Very soft schedule this season.

Bama fans are spoiled rotten to the core. They will not find another Saban. He was the perfect coach in a different era of college football.
Will they compete? Of course. Will some seasons be better than others? Absolutely.
Welcome to how everyone else in college football has experienced the game for decades.
He will be the coach in 2026. Whether he stays after that. I don’t know.

Ok but back to back seasons with 3 losses and missing the CFP is absolutely inexcusable at Alabama. Maybe it is for a team like Texas or LSU, but not at Bama.

Idk man, idk. Dude teams are Jekyl and Hyde. Not a good combination for excellence.
Alabama fans need to give DeBoer 3 full years before making any decisions about him being a bad fit at Alabama.

I’d take DeBoer at LSU.

How is the coaching search going? Frank Wilson seems to be the most likely choice.

Welcome to being mortal
There is absolutely nothing god-given or ordained in college football.
There is nothing special about any college football program in the country. It’s only a confluence of coaching, players, and money.
Alabama hired a once in 100 years coach with Saban. Chances of that happening again are damn near zero.

He's not even close to being on the hot seat.

He will get 3 years minimum. It's more likely he will take another job than it is that he will be fired.

If DeBoer misses playoffs we would have paid him 20 million to do such in a 12 team environment. Think of that for a minute. There’s a reason so many programs are pulling trigger so fast now. With salaries these days you can’t afford to keep lighting money on fire which is what Alabama would be doing. He may get year three but he will have almost zero support if he loses to Auburn. None.

I don’t think KD is built for this. I don’t think he’s mentally tough enough.
He doesn’t believe in running the ball.
He doesn’t get bend but don’t break defense. He has a glass jaw in his philosophy.
I don’t really watch Bama games unless it is a big game. I usually have multiple games on, unless it’s UGA then it’s just that one. I watched all the OU game. When did Bama start running gimmick plays on offense? I don’t mean onside kicks, fake punts or reverses. I mean gadget fake acting plays. QBs fake walking to the sideline direct snaps, falling down fake trios by running backs, fake ball being thrown over your head. It all screams you don’t believe in your scheme and preparation.
If you are Alabama , how does this not embarrass you?

We were told for many years that we would not find another Bryant when we kept firing coaches after 3-4 seasons.

I wish LSU had Bama’s problems right now.
Not if it meant we still had Kelly.
I will take some short term pain to be rid of that arse.
