Indiana ranks last in Big 10 talent 18th.(72nd) Nationally. Ohio State ranks first. Ohio State has 14 5 stars and 56 4 stars. Indiana has 7 four stars.

How do we explain this? Is it just pure luck, or the evaluations are wrong on so many players, is there that much difference between a five star and a three star, is the coach just that much better, how would you explain Indiana being competitive with this sort of talent Gap?

Don’t Cignetti know Ohio State has a bigger stadium than IU? What’s the matter with him?

Having an NFL quarterback and well schemed offense and defense can mask a lot of that.

Its almost like...star ratings arent everything. Players that fit your system and buy in are far more important. It used to be pretty much impossible to acquire these kinds of veteran players for a new coach. Now he can just bring the best players from the team he was at.

It's like you folks have never watched an upset before.

Here's a shocker for you, sometimes G5 teams even beat good P4 teams at home.

As I've always said -- especially for LSU -- you can recruit em but can you coach em up?

Great recruiters (esp. in the SEC) are a dime a dozen but coaches who coach them up are fricking rare.

I can only think of two: Kirby and Cignetti

Incredibly misleading

247 uses high school grades to compute talent composite.

Their averaged combined recruiting ranking counting transfers is in the 40s over the last 4 years.

They have a bunch of 3-4 star transfer grades counting as 0-2 star guys toward talent composite
