It's actually a good question, one that can't be answered until TR and MI finish their careers. But if he keeps his head on straight Richardson could be one of the best backs the SEC has ever seen

The guy is ridiculous. Ya'll saw him close up on the most amazing touchdown run I've ever seen.

Broke 5 tackles, then outran a cornerback for a what? 50 yard TD?

Yeah something like that. Ingram is so consistent it is hard to keep him off the field, but TR is a true star in the making

I know everyone is waiting on pins and needles for me to say something.

I don't know what the future holds for Ingram/Richardson.

All I'll say is McFadden/Jones combined for more APY than any HB duo in the history of college football.

If Ingram/Richardson push for 12,000 APY in 3 years then I'll gladly tip my hat.

(As for Ronnie/Caddy, those two had 4,000 less APY than Felix/Darren, and the Auburn cats stayed 4 years)

We need more bold faced text for your point to be super clear, imo.

And you should include the other awesome backs that no one talks about because McFadden and Jones took the spotlight.

So mcfadden and Jones each averaged 2000 apy per year for 3 years? I remember both of em being great but I don't remember them combining for 12,000 yards over three yards.

They had over 11,000 APY.

I guess that averages out to 1,833 a year, a piece.

But they were returning kicks, punts, rushing, passing, receiving......

Damn. What about rushing yards? Since we're comparing 2 rbs to 2 rbs.

No. Put McFadden/Jones on Bama's '09 team, running behind that line, I would take this duo any day over Ingram/Richardson.

I don't think Ingram/Richardson would do what McFadden/Jones did behind ArKansas' line.

Could be wrong though

They had 7,550 yards rushing among them in 3 years

The other 4,000 yards came from kick returns, punts, receptions, and passes.

"they had 7,550 yards rushing"......pretty sure 3 and 22 will have more than that when they're done. But they'll never get as many apy as mcfadden and Jones. What about tackles? Richardson has some special teams tackles

But in reality, the fact that Darren McFadden, Felix Jones, and Michael Smith were all in the same backfield is downright amazing. It probably matches or beats Ronnie Brown/Carnell Williams/Brandon Jacobs.

Or we can discuss the backfield of Bo Jackson, Tommie Agee, Lionel James, and Brent Fullwood for AU in 1983. That might also be the best backfield in NCAA history.

Trouble is Bo got most of the carries. But any backfield with Bo Jackson is for sure a damn good one.

Ah yes using return yards to prove they're a better RB duo.

I would look at things like the yards they generated when lined up in the backfield.

Returners are going to get a lot of yards.

Fred Jackson had over 2500 APY this year for the Buffalo Bills. He edged out Chris Johnson in APY! He's not one of the best RBs in the league.
