I am ok with protecting a defensless WR to a point. But automatic ejection is going to far. Especially for something as good as the Clowney/Michigan play.

I remember how beside myself irate I was when they flagged Reshad Jones for that absolutely gorgeous leveling of Justin Blackmon against Okie Lite in 2009. Essentially cost us the game as OSU would have had to punt back to us after they hadn't done shite to slow our offense down all game.
Now just imagine if Reshad not only missed the rest of the 4th qtr, but was forced to sit out the next 3 qtrs of next weeks game?

No doubt it will have a major impact on a cruicial, nationally televised game sometime this season. It will leave one particular fanbase in rage and there will be some major backlash.
Just hope it is not us. We've had our fair share of screwjobs.

Yeah, I think that if they're going to enforce such a serious penalty like that (possible ejection/suspension), then "helmet to helmet" hits should be reviewable.
