Alabama-LSU rivalry didn't become heated until Saban came to T-town. It was Les Miles that said, "Now we have a new M F'ing rival in Alabama." After that, it was the agony of contemplating what could have been.

BATON ROUGE - The LSU athletic department laid off employees and announced salary and bonus cuts for coaches, including head football coach Ed Orgeron, on Thursday because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Orgeron, who is the second highest paid college coach in the country at $8.9 million a year, has voluntarily agreed to have his salary reduced by five percent in 2021 as has LSU athletic director Scott Woodward.

I saw the thread title and had to check the date. I figured it was from 2018. We’ve beaten y’all 2 of the last 4 and 1 of the last 1. And we’ll easily beat y’all more than half of the next few meetings.

The AJ to Yeldon screen pass did it.

Saban destroyed them in 2011 and it's been complete domination ever since.

It was…until 2019. It’s over. Check the scoreboard Mrs. Haversham (Or should I say Ms. Haversham?)

I’ll play along. Any answer other than 1/9/12 is just wrong.

Since 2019, you are 1-2 vs Alabama.

LSU is also 27-55-5 against Alabama all time.

ALL OF THE ABOVE.

LSU has always been obsessed with Bama. It is tough looking up at the king.

TJ Yeldon Screen - If LSU wins in 2012, they have a good shot at beating UGA and ND and it gets that Bama monkey off our back before it starts.

I wasn't thrilled Saban went to Alabama, but I also did not really care because Miles already had a title at LSU.

Peterson INT was garbage, but we still had to go the length of the field down 8. Not a big deal.

2011 BCSNCG - Did not think Bama should have been there, but had a strong gut feeling we were going to lose.

The other two GIFS are just plays in games, doesn't matter.

Literally none of this. Football is one sport and it's all bama has. Fortunately for LSU, we are competitive in many sports, not just football. As an LSU fan, I don't give a shite what bama does because, at the end of the day, we win national championships in many sports. Bama can't say the same, so you know they can be good at football, but that's it. It doesn't bother me one bit.

We have Baseball coming, Womans Basketball on run, softball will be competitive, MBB still rebuilding, Track and Field will always do good, and gymnastics also. So as fans, we have a lot to look forward to.

You must have missed where we have the number 2 basketball team and just pushed your shite it to the tune of 40 points.

It was 1/9/12 and there is no other answer.

Saban winning a title in 2009 was a big shockwave to the system but he'd already won one at LSU so him winning one at bama wasn't necessarily an enormous needle mover. 2011 both teams are elite and LSu wins in tuscaloosa. Assumign LSU went 14-0 I'm certain that many people woudl argue this as their best team ever (even above 2019). The caliber of teams they beat that year was insane and they dominated pretty much everyone other than the regular seaosn bama game. So then they get a title game rematch in New Orleans of all places, then *that* happened. Not only was that just remarkably embarrasing in its own right, but it gave Saban more bama titles than LSU titles. He's now done more for bama than he has for LSU.

I suppose you could call 2012 the denoument to the whole thing, not only because the yeldon screen was a total knife twist gut punch but because it led to yet another title. Anything that happened after 2012 doesn't factor into the equation at all IMO.
