absolutely, but I think Clemson opted for the ACC, like FSU did, because it's easier to win there.
Clemson is a founding member of the ACC dating back to 1953 and that means something. FSU was an independant and joined the ACC in 1990. The SEC had 10 teams in 1990: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt...The league wasn't the juggernaut it was back then. But Clemson and FSU stayed loyal during conference alignment which worked out in the end.

What? Seriously? Why in the blue hell would we be jealous of the SEC? Parasites like your program that live vicariously off the deeds of successful programs in the SEC is all you have to live for.

When you are a dynasty with an unprecedented number of national titles in the last decade, any team that can consistently beat you every 3 years or so (the longest streak Saban has against AU is 3 years) is a rival. Especially if you share a state with them. We are only one year removed from them absolutely kicking our asses. And I wouldn't overlook AU this year. The common theme in every season they have beaten us is a solid, experienced OL. Everyone focuses on their QB's but OL has been the common denominator in all of their great or bad seasons.
