Clemson may not be Bama's only rival but for the last 3 years they have been Bams's only equal. No one in the SEC has been.

There have been two really good games and two boat racing’s in the last 4 years. The series is 2-2 in that time, with the teams alternating wins. All 4 games were in the playoffs. It might not be a “rivalry” in the traditional sense, but Alabama and Clemson are the only programs that rival each other’s success recently.

Was it FSU’s fault that they played a weak ACC schedule all those years (three or four undefeated years was it?) of plowing through the ACC on their way to poll generated national championships under Bowden?
How tough was Jimbo’s schedule at FSU when he won it all?
Think about it.
Honestly, why the ACC (sic FSU and Clemson) has not won more national championships over the past 27 years is a head scratcher .... especially prior to the CFP.

Georgia has become our new East rival like Florida used to be under Urban Meyer. They have given us everything we could handle and we barely escaped both games against them. It's embarrassing to say, but Auburn is still a thorn in our side when they have good teams. When they have bad years, we embarrass them, but on their up years, they not only compete, they typically beat us.

absolutely, but I think Clemson opted for the ACC, like FSU did, because it's easier to win there.
