They fired Kelvin Sampson, or rather were forced to fire him. This goes all the way back to before Crean. Even if Crean had moderate success, they had their coach and fricked up, just haven't found a coach worth a shite since then.

Gotcha. Still yet, that's not a good ROI. For that kind of money they should be in the field. I know nothing about their situation or Indiana basketball whatsoever, but you've gotta think their coach is on thin ice.

You’ve been saying this for the last 30 years. It absolutely is sustainable.

The contrast between Indiana and Florida shows beyond doubt that coaching matters a whole hell of a lot.

Apparently that $7 million in severance is for Mike Woodson. Archie Miller's buyout was financed privately.

Kentucky is a poor now. 3 titles since segregation. 3 of their titles are when the tournament started with 8 teams.
They are nowhere close to the program they think they are.
It was always Cal. Proven by results and who the players care for. Nobody cares about UK

So Arkansas spent over twice what UF spent last year? Uh..
There are some really good Arkansas fans.
Unfortunately most don't hang out here. They will step in their own shite on the reg.

That's actually basketball operations spending not NIL if I recall correctly

It's a new day and age in college sports and I feel like this will be the norm now. Unless your name is Eric Musselman. This stuff isn't about going to school somewhere anymore. They're going to play for a coach who they think can get them the most money either in school or in preparation for the league.
I set Musselman aside because apparently nobody frickin likes the guy.

Yeah definitely not Rupp, Hall, Tubby, or Pitino.
Some of y’all.

There is something to this. Its Free Agency.
Indiana Football showed you the way. Then they went and paid Cignetti over $10 MIl a year.
That's Ten Blue Chip Proven Studs on the line for a year. Is Cignetti worth it ?
We'll see. That's the paradigm people don't want to see. It's not a zero sum game - but its a game where if you draw big money you best be a force multiplier.

Pecker-head. 30 years ago I was 25. Dial up on AOL was as close to what this is now. And Eddie Sutton was getting run out of Kentucky for an Emory Envelope that supposedly "opened on its own" to a West Coast recruit.
And you were either a zygote ... or just stoned out of your mind and just now had a flash of lucidity before you post pics on Facebook of your grandkids.
Either way. Get a clue.

USC must be a better job than Arkansas.
