Arkansas can simply pay more.
The top 10 men's basketball teams who spent the most in 2025:
1?? Indiana, $32M
2?? Tennessee, $23.1M
3?? Arizona, $22.6M
4?? Texas, $22.4M
5?? UConn, $21.5M
6?? Arkansas, $21.2M
7?? Michigan State, $21M
8?? Kentucky, $20.7M
9?? Auburn, $20.5M
?? Louisville, $19.8M
Calipari could only win 1 NCAA Tournament game there in his last five seasons as the coach.
In two seasons at Arkansas, Calipari already has four wins and his team is still alive.
At this point, Arkansas is just a better job.
Thanks be to God for Johnny Tyson!

It actually contradicts the OPs point that simply having more money is enough.

It tells me that their coach frickin sucks. They spent 10 million more than anyone else and didn't make the tournament. Wow.

If Kelvin Sampson hadn’t of texted those recruits, it’d likely be a different story. Wild to think that.

I don't know the story there. Sampson being shady?

You are ignorant

I'm no Kelvin Sampson fan but that's petty as frick from the NCAA.

The Kentucky vs Arkansas threads entertain

I put a lot of factual information in the OP, but go ahead. Inform me.

Sorry, calls not texts.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Kelvin Sampson's future at Indiana was in doubt Wednesday following the release of an NCAA report that says he committed five "major" violations.
According to the report released Wednesday, the NCAA listed five major violations against Sampson, saying he gave "false or misleading information" to investigators.
The allegations stem from a phone-call scandal that occurred while Sampson was still under recruiting restrictions following a similar episode at Oklahoma.
It was messy as frick (ESPN)

That is program spending not NIL. That is for staff, overhead, facilities etc. We all went through that the other day.

75% of that money went to the #2 scorer on the team, the coach's son

Man, that's even worse.
Kentucky very possibly had a better paid roster and still got out-performed by Arkansas.
And what does it say that Arkansas pays its support staff more than Kentucky? Does UK just not care anymore?

Out facility is Rupp Arena. It is owned by the City of Lexington. UK has zero maintenance costs.

Are you frickin kidding me?
If that's true that's gotta be criminal, man.

It's always been a question of whether or not Arkansas would step up and get serious. They have the resources to pay a lot of money if they want to.

None of this is sustainable. We're going to see a course correction in the next five years. Of that I am sure.
Its fun to watch, honestly.

Right. They're gonna have to cap it. Otherwise it'll get to where some of these schools are paying players more than they would make in the pros.
