There would be no LSU as we've known it over the last 20 years without Nick Saban at LSU and at Alabama too. LSU would be still be in the Curly Hallman era.

As a lifelong LSU fan i can honestly say ive never lost respect for him.

It the bandwagon Bama fans who have been insufferable.

Saban put LSU back on the map. The biggest mistake Skip Bertman ever made was turning down Nick Saban and sticking with Les Miles when Nick asked to come back to LSU.

Saban is a legendary coach. I hope he lives a long retirement in S. FLA with all of those other coaches.

Of course.

I’m mixed on Saban finally retiring. He’s a coach I’ve loved to “hate.” BUT he’s also the last of the SEC coaches from when I was in college. Yet another reminder that time spares no one.

I'm grateful LSU is a part of Nick Saban's history. Hell, I've even softened my hate for Alabama. Texas A&M took that place.!

I'm just glad to have been in college while Saban worked his magic! It was a great time to be in the student section!!!

Exactly 20 years ago, LSU was celebrating a National Championship thanks to Nick Saban.

I will always be grateful he blessed LSU with five years as HC.

Another small piece of CFB died today. Would’ve preferred a few more shots at him with Kelly at the helm. Thanks for the memories coach.

Same. I look back and realize how lucky I was to be a student at LSU during the Saban years.
