Now imagine the melt if Georgia beats Alabama on 9/28/24.

Vegas didn’t drop the expected win total by a whole game for no reason. UGA should be favored by at least a TD in that game (UGA was favored even when Saban was coaching). Don’t think there will be any melting by reasonable Bama fans if we lose that one in a transition year.

As a whole it isn't Georgia fans getting on Alabama fans backs

There’s definitely been some gleeful UGA fans starting threads and commenting (although some are probably alters). I, for one, respect what Kirby has done at UGA and have always been thankful for his 13 years at Bama. Bama/UGA fans are typically cool with each other.

However, I really do feel it’s close to a “must win” for Kirby in terms of reputation and legacy at this point in his career. Losing would be pretty devastating after getting owned by Saban for years. Obviously if he beat Bama in the SECCG or CFP later in the year, then it wouldn’t matter nearly as much. If it’s the only matchup, or if somehow he loses 2 next year to Bama, his reputation as the best active coach would take a big hit IMO.

Gonna be fun when it does. Our offense should be much more explosive….like the Sark/Kiffin days. Those offenses historically torch bowl cut defenses..

Not really. Have you not been on this board for this last week or so? According to LUS fans, we have no chance against any contenders esp. next season.

So, LSU fans have been taking shots at Alabama so the logical thing to do is take a shot at Georgia? makes perfect sense.
I mean, we can join in the fun and start trolling Alabama, too, if you want.

If Kirby beats DeBoer in their first meeting you think it will be ok?

I have no issues with it. I fully expect it.

Given the uncertainties of personnel (staff and players) and wholesale changes in philosophy, calls, signals, etc., the season for Bama could range from 7-5 to 11-1. I don't expect a win over UGA anywhere in the mix, but crazy things happen.

You won't find it here in great supply, but most Bama fans expect some major setbacks from the norm under the GOAT.

I just hope he keeps the team competitive and improving. Everything about him, at every stop, indicates he will.

He needs this year to set his style and culture, establish recruiting relationships, and set conditions for a strong year 2 to really be held accountable for success in Year 3. Bama fans are just going to have to be patient, while taking their lumps from opposing fans when there are setbacks.

JetDawg and Jack Tavern? Seriously?Crap. They fall in the same category as Little Willy and you let them get to you? Do you really think a whole ton of Georgia fans have been trolling Alabama? I mean, since various Alabama fans are dragging Georgia into it, I am beginning to troll you a bit. But to let JetDawg and Jack Tavern get you? And if you check....JetDawg is actually a USCw fan.

Mutual respect amongst Bama/UGA for the best run organization in all of MLB

I grew up in Birmingham when both the Braves and the Falcons started playing in Atlanta in 1966. Everyone I knew was a Braves fan. No one gave a shite about the Falcons.

You clearly haven’t been reading the board during this transition. Don’t have time to link them all, but there’s been a lot from UGA, AU, and LSU. A few from Tenn, a couple Texas, but the majority of comments or threads have been the 3 we have hurt the most, including UGA.

Don’t have time to keep track of who’s who…but there have been lots of “UGA fans” trolling.

Kirby runs his record to 1-6 against Bama while Bama has a new FCS coaching staff, gutted roster, etc.

No way this happens, right?

Feels like it’s a must win for Kirby and he will have the most pressure in that game. If Bama continues the dominance over UGA, I worry Kirby may have to take his ball and go home in utter shame (or to NFL). Surely Kirby wins that game by double digits like Harbaugh just did to this incompetent coaching staff.

Bargaining stage with a whole lot of copium.

No one is going to melt losing an early season September road game. And the schedule is difficult enough that we should be able to overcome a loss or two.

Yep. When that recruiting coordinator from lib town Seattle hits the Deep South we wont be able to count the five stars running to T town. Hartsin has given him all his contacts. I’m skeered.

Either way, there will be a massive melt by the losing fanbase.

Apparently, this is your first season of SEC football.

Welcome.

It’s a must win for Kirby. He loses that game and Georgia fans will burn his house down.

Honestly, individual regular season games won't matter anymore with a 12-team playoff. If UGA finishes the season 10-2 or better, they'll make the playoff. The game against Bama really doesn't matter in the long run.

The matchup will only matter if it happens in the playoff.

Wrong. At this point, Kirby could lose to Vandy and still get his statue.
