I'm actually not a squirrel hunting fan. The last time I killed a squirrel I was 14 and had to put the boot heel to its head. I don't even kill deer. Like I said earlier, hunting for me is an excuse to sit outside and drink a little whiskey and enjoy a good dip. My desire to kill things other than coyotes, feral dogs, and feral hogs is nearly 0.

I can skin a deer and run a trotline...but I also drive an Acura and have entirely too many polos in my closet

Had to do that to a dove on my first dove hunt and to a squirrel I wounded in my backyard with a pellet gun.
Generally the preferred method for killing wounded squirrels in my family is to grab the tail and give them a swift smack against a tree. Snaps the neck.
I enjoy hunting and fishing for the sport, but very rarely let it go to waste. I'd say that I eat what I kill at least 95% of the time.
