Yep. I've caught bream in the swamp, smallmouth in the New England Rivers, and tarpon in the South Florida flats, but I don't feel the need for everyone to know that. I'm pretty sure most people that are over the top about it are just putting on a front.

You'd be right. Take one of those guys fishing. It's entertaining.

Exactly, I had friends that use to mock me for using $400 rods and nice gear. I never got out fished by any fricker with a zebco and Wal Mart tackle.

The rednecks in central Alabama wouldn't know what a redfish, tarpon, or trout if it hit them in the side of the head. Or a smallmouth for that matter.

I'd rather not. I have enough friends that know WTF they're doing and that I don't have to take care of. The only way I'm going to guide someone is if it's a girl or my niece. And between me and her granddad, we've taught my niece well enough that she doesn't need help anymore. :prouduncle:

Admittedly I've never caught a smallmouth. I was raised in central Alabama on catfish, crappie, and brim. When I moved to Florida I got hooked on inshore fishing and there's very few things on this earth that I'd rather be doing than catching trout and redfish. That's the main reason I moved back down to the coast

I'm sure I am, but I try my best not to be and would not vehemently argue a point and then admit to being a hypocrite about it in defeat.

My goal for this week is to get in the smallies. Having a lake house on the TN river will aid greatly in this goal

I can get them right here in the middle of Atlanta. Good ones too. Within a five minute shuttle ride and a fifteen minute walk of my apartment.

I'm majoring in fisheries for this exact reason. I want to be on the water, and I want to live RIGHT by it. I could be on the water every single day and never get tired of it.
