Why not if the odds are long enough and you’ve got money to throw around? I don’t think the Rebs will have the depth to win the playoff, but with Kiffin’s track record, the returning production on offense, and the big portal pickups on defense, we should win 9-11 in the regular season no problem with our pretty manageable schedule.

Defense might be in a bind though. I think y’all can make it to the 12 team playoff but aren’t y’all losing a lot on that side?

If we get Nolen, we’ll be upgrading on talent, but losing a lot of experience. I think we can get to the expanded playoff (would have 2 out of the last 3 years) but we won’t win it.

You’re wasting $100. Ole Miss does not have the interior depth to compete with the upper echelon. Didn’t they lose like 55-17 to UGA this year?

Also, has Ole Miss ever won a championship?

Tell me you haven’t been following OMs portal acquisitions without telling me you haven’t been following OMs portal acquisitions.

Ole Miss did not have a good O-line this year, but they had a solid D-line and are upgrading it in the portal. Defensive backfield is also question mark but they’re snagging starters from other P5 schools in the portal.

Sure Ole Miss got blown out by UGA in Athens, but that was this year and next year is next year. Uga is hemorrhaging talent to the portal and the Rebs are putting together what might be the greatest portal class of all time.

Bringing back a lot of talent and adding even more. It’s exciting as a fan because talent wise and with the expanded playoff really anything is possible next year. Big names usually come with big egos so I think it’s all going to hinge on coaching at this point trying to keep all those big egos from stepping on their own dicks and get them to buy in and gel as a team.

Not a bad bet. They’re going all in for next year. They know Lane won’t be there forever.

Safer bet is MSU Birmingham bowl runner up

Considering what we lose this year if Lebby wins 6-7 games in year 1 with our tough schedule I’ll consider that a bright hope for the future

the slavemaster's wife is going to be a mf'ing problem, and people like Colby from Covington are going to be made to understand that, come September. I'm a lifelong state fan, alumni, donor, and recipient of decades of heartbreak, and ole miss has been right there with us in the "fml" department. i say that to qualify how badly the vomit hurts my esophagus as i admit the truth: we (state and ole miss) have just a bit more understanding of what's going on in each others' houses than someone like say, an lsu fan, (small state and all), but....ole miss is gonna be a real rascal next year.

the rebels will not go away gently into the night circa 2024, and if yall sob's discount that statement, it's at your own demise. I hope and wish they lose every game, just like every other sec team not named "state," but we all know what they say about wishing and shitting and hands and whatnot...

Y'all taking Tennessee's defensive scraps from a Vols defense that has been a liability for two years and you're pushing out your chest at that.

Ok, buddy.

Ole Miss is gonna fall hard, and I’ll be here for it. Back to Liberty Bowls you go.

We’re going to see some schools step up and become nationally relevant for the first time ever in modern college football.

Does Kiffin stay at Ole Miss or go to another school or back to the NFL?

A lot of Florida fans, NOT including myself, think he wants to come to Florida. I don’t see it.

If Billy shits the bed again and Kiffin is bowl eligible by mid-October, then I could possibly see it. But a lot more has to happen like replacing the AD.

Ole Miss has never even been to Atlanta and you want to go pencil them in as the winner of the college football playoff next year? Gotta love it Will they make the playoffs? Yeah…there is a good chance. But, no way in hell they win that thing. That’s Lane‘s main goal anyway….to just get to the playoff. He knows if he can build this team up and get them to a playoff next year…. That’s gonna open up some pretty big time head coaching doors for him.

A good bet would be getting to the playoffs, but I doubt they can go all the way. They get lucky and don't play alabama or tezas so they have an easy schedule issue of UGA.

Kids who jump in the portal are looking for a paycheck, nothing more. They're not going to put a team over the top.

You still have a subpar QB in Dart, and Kiffen has consistently shown he can't win a big game. Until he does, it doesn't matter who he brings in.

TAMU brought in all that talent and realized it was like herding cats. Now Ole Miss is bringing it to their doorstep and people think that headache will put them over the top.
