1. Why would the company endorse a guy who’s not playing? That’s a really irrational fear.

Well so far they are sponsoring whole positions group.
Also sponsoring kids right out of school before they play a down. So they are paying kids who might never play.

Correct with the anticipation that he plays. If the player decides to sit out they will pull his deal. Him playing is what makes them money.

I think all of this NIL stuff shows just how incompetent much of the country is when it comes to the value of a ad dollar. They have people that don't understand what it means to have millions of social media followers and you have people that think companies just throw about ad dollars like it is monopoly money.

The major problem is no steadfast rules on what can happen. So Ohio State with a big fan base is going to get hundreds of thousands if not millions to a kid.

What happens if Burrow gets 500k the day he signs with Ohio State realizes he isn’t playing comes to LSU. Is this going to be fair game?

These sponsorships will they be driven by good business sense or fandom?

I see the problem is going to be the kids who want to sit out now because they are “rich” and pull an Aaron Rogers and don’t show up for practice. That’s going to be my big problem.

You see this as an Aaron Rogers situation? Rogers isn't holding out over money, he wants out of Green Bay, period.

The last problem a college football player has these days is the ability to get out of town. Aaron Rogers wishes he had one of those magic portals to simply send him elsewhere.

I’m not saying they don’t deserve it. I am saying a bunch of rich people might lose their head like they are on eBay. Fandom doesn’t make good business sense. Otherwise we would all be Bama fans the last couple decades.

I don’t see this as a 1for1 AR situation. I see this being a big problem with bought recruits not playing and boosters saying I paid this much for this dumb kid and if you don’t play him he is leaving. And the kids sitting or threatening transfers even more.

We don’t really have to worry about a booster saying shite to Saban. But these up and coming coaches have a new set of booster problems.

Nah, will remain the same.

Alabama boosters can now legally pay players.

and who the frick cares? Why are you trying to tell someone what they can and can't do with their money?

If someone wants to run their business into the ground because they are spending all of the profits on sponsoring college players and not getting a return, who am I to say they cant do that?

Because booster problems ruin programs that’s why. I don’t give a shite if a car lot gives every kid a car. Then that business goes out. But it’s going to end up in a Mitch Mustain fan base dividing bullshite situation sooner than later.

So Mitch Mustain ruined the Arkansas program?

I think that BBQ joint sponsoring the Arkansas O-line is pretty good idea.

"Protectors of the Pit official sponsors of your Arkansas Football Offensive Line"

Now if Arkansas' Offensive line is having a bad year that could be a problem for Protectors of the Pit.

This is ridiculous, why shouldn't they be allowed to make money if companies and the market determine it is beneficial for them to do so? Plus I think it will be far better for them to generate some cash while in a college environment where they have a lot of structure, positive influence and guidance. The only way to learn how to manage money is if you have money.

Ruin it, overstatement. But did him and the Springdale crew that pushed him and Gus every game suck? Yes. They were the ones that kept getting Gus raises from Auburn.

I am 100% behind this.
I am 100% behind a CBD company sponsoring Livvy Dunnes joints and aches.

I am not behind the inevitable bidding on stars between two schools boosters. Or two boosters having two different opinions on the QB we need so we get a dual threat and one gets a pro style. Then the boosters are all in the ear of the coach talking about play my guy.

That’s my only problem with any of this. Boosters getting in the head of coaches. Because coaches need boosters on their side to push through tough times. So do they start playing the players of the more influential booster?

Based on your post above this already happened years before the NIL stuff was even thought to be possible. So what is new about this?

We act like if they are 22, 35 or 40 and in the NFL/boxing (mayweather) that they will be better with money. I think the only thing we can do is recommend good CPAs.

Did it happen sort of. Will it be way worse when hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars come into play? Also what about the gray shirt situations? Can they be sponsored now? Which means a class could technically be 40 kids?
