The splashes. The grimaces and frowns. The transition on Nick Saban’s face.
Like a dog feeling a benevolent child owner’s loving tug at the bone in its mouth, Saban does his best in the moment to tolerate the Gatorade bath. He begrudgingly pauses his legendary focus long enough to muster an appropriate acknowledgement of his players’ gesture.
Now, contrast that with Saban’s immediate reaction in the aftermath of Alabama’s 38-17 victory over LSU last season.
See Nick Saban walk out toward his postgame acknowledgement of LSU counterpart Les Miles. See former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron walk to intercept his coach.
See Nick Saban jump in McCarron’s arms.
It was a great moment, made more so because it seemed so out of character for Saban. It was a regular-season game, for crying out loud.
The moment was indicative of Saban’s relationship with McCarron, certainly at the time, but more indicative of how beating LSU is viewed within Alabama’s team circle."

Miles and his Tigers are going to take the gumps to the woodshed and you know it. The last time you played in TS your own coach compared the win to the Bluegrass miracle. Better hope and pray you find that miracle again...you gonna need it

Where can I watch this? I watched the Nov. 5th press conference on LSUsports.net and read a recap of the radio show.
Edit: A caller told Miles that on his radio show. Caller: "Please, Coach, don't think about Michigan. You are a true coonass." Miles: "Well, Daniel, I appreciate that very much. I very much enjoy this state. My family has grown and prospered here. It's been very special. It's been home, certainly."

If you claim to be of Acadien/Cajun decent and are offended by any use of the term "coonass" you probably don't deserve to even have the term applied to you. So many people now a days have no actual connection to the exiled Acadiens or others who came here shortly after...simply living in South Louisiana seems to make anyone from anywhere a Cajun or at least claim to be sometimes. True Cajun born and raised by true cajuns in true Cajun ways right here. I love what Miles said or agreed to with a caller...he's embraced the culture and people here and that comment shows that. This isn't directed at any posters here, just feel strongly about the topic with how watered down true Cajun culture is becoming
