Where does this cake stuff come fro?

Smashing cake is usually seen at weddings. This was not a wedding

Cakeboy is another term for "feminine" gay man. Maybe smashing cake meant he was the cakeboy of the 2

Yeah, I don't get why people care.
I'm older than are most of these kids too.
I'm conservative.
I'm a staunch and proud Christian.
I believe in living & letting others live.
My homosexual neighbors don't care what I do; and I don't particularly care to know what they do.
We keep our guns loaded, our refrigerators stocked with plentiful cold beer, and look out for each other.
All of this other stuff--at the end of the day--is bunk.
Maybe it has to do with advancing age & priorities?

Why do you assume or think anyone hates someone? I have not seen anyone say they hated Michael Sam. Why do you believe that if someone does not support something, then they hate it. I don't support President Obama, but I don't hate him. I don't care for his policies. I admire that he appears to be very devoted to his family. There are areas I admire him for. But I don't suppport him because of his policies and I certainly do not hate him.

Never heard of cakeboy. Not used in NY I guess. and if Sam was drafted by the NFL, I would call him feminine.

I am assuming, then, that you would be for a brother and sister getting married and having children, then? Or an adult having relations with an animal? (Before you say the animal cannot consent, I might point out that animals have no rights and do not give their consent to be killed and eaten, either)

These are rather easy to answer. Inbreeding leads to health problems in offspring. An animal is not a consenting adult. You might be able to make a compelling argument for human on animal sex, if that's your thing. It still has nothing to do with gay marriage.

quote:

He wasn't saying they were equivalant. YOU said that. He was saying just because two people engage in consensual sex does not make it ok.
It makes you look just as irrational to say he was saying they were equivalent. Read what he is saying carefully, and i think you would agree, he was NOT saying they were equivalent. Simply that the behavior is not ok just because it is between two consenting adults.

Two adults engaging in consensual sex is OK. He was comparing gay sex to pedophilia. Again, people can do whatever the hell they want in their private capacity. That's freedom. As for the marriage component: marriage is simply two people entering into contract. "Marriage" is just a name that has been slapped onto it. It's insane to believe that the government should be allowed to prohibit two people from willingly entering into a contract with one another.

And herein lies the problem. They plastered it all over the television. It was in our face. now, if your neighbors got into a kissing fest out on the front lawn in front of your kids, would you care? I mean, as others have said...you could go inside and not look out your window. You could tell your kids not to look.

I have no doubt that a hetero athlete has been shown kissing his girlfriend/wife after being selected. But not a 7th round pick and never shown as often and talked about as much as the Michael Sam thing was. Why? One reason. He is gay. If they want to be treated the same as everybody else, then they should demand to be treated like everybody else and not be given extra attention. No other 7th round pick got as much attention.

Of course no other 7th round pick has gotten as much attention. Just like Obama got attention for being the first black president. Just like Tim Tebow got the attention that he did, when he was the third string QB. The media latches on to controversy for the sake of views. You can vote against such practices by not watching.

Well, that's probably not the strongest argument. We're restricting marriages based upon the health risks involved in children they may or may not have?

Yeah, people's beef should be with espn, not with Sam and his guy.
It's likely they would've celebrated, regardless of who was watching.
Espn wanted exactly what's happening now: the spotlight.
Again, I just don't care.
I guess I'm in the minority.
My concerns have more to do with high taxes, a drought, my family's propensity to steal all the stuffed jalapeños off the grill before I can get inside to enjoy em too, and the Aggies' defense.

Hey, you're likely a faithful guy.
That's what matters.
And your views on guns are yours.
None of my business.
Take care of that diabetes--we need all of the jackass LSU fans to stick around for the intensifying rivalry.

I agree, if that were the case you could make an argument for straight marriages. Like an old dude marrying a younger woman

I don't think it's a lie; climate change is a natural part of meteorology and hence, geology.
It's the "man-made" part of it that makes me snicker.
But that's another thread for another board.
