Everybody in the top 10 is better than MSU and I am not even looking at the top 10. We are talking about MSU here. They have a good coach but their talent is just not that great. LSU better not lose that game with the talent gap between the two teams.

Besides the secondary what clear talent gap is there in terms of starting players?

MSU will take down at least two top ten teams this year IMO

Really? Are you watching the ATM game? MSU > ATM

SMU is not a bad program under June Jones. Texas A&M will win 10 games in 2011.

I don't know man, their Defense has gaping holes without Von Miller. SMU's backup QB is moving them up and down the field with no problem.

i'll give you DE. State has the better QB and two solid backups, one elite RB and a damn good scat back, a loaded group of 4* WRs much like LSU, an equal oline, better DTs, and similiar LB corps(inexperienced). Secondary and DE are the only clear gaps.

Their defense keeps them out of the top 10 IMO.

SMU is really pushing them tonight. Could be an upset.

State's best two players on defense barely played and didn't play. To add to that the scheme was very vanilla.

Somehow forgot about QB, MSU has an edge there IMO. For the rest I'll wait until I see more from both. I guess we won't have to wait long, as they play in a week and a half

I get that. However, I go by the product on the field, and they played without them, so that's what I'm going by.

i can see where you guys are coming from, the thing is if you actually follow Mullen's recruiting you know that QB, WR, oline, and DT have all been recruited and developed very well.

You wouldn't rate them at all if you used that logic.

I just looked at last week's top 25 coaches poll and I can honestly say Moo State is not better than any of those teams. I would say the same for the top 15. That's not to say they couldn't win a game versus a top 10 team, but they are not nearly that talented a team. Their coaching is top 15 but they are lucky to have top 25 talent. For LSU it's a must win and LSU should dominate the game.
