Yes there's a chance.

Clemson is the only 3 loss team with a chance to get in
So if South Carolina beats Clempson and gives them their 3rd loss you think they would have a better chance than any other 3 loss team including us

Ole Miss has 3 losses. What was that score again?
Ole Miss has lost to Kentucky, LSU (13), and Florida.
Bama has lost to Vandy, Tennessee (11), and Oklahoma.
Both of those teams have 2 losses to non-quality teams. USC doesn't have that. USC has lost to quality teams. LSU was ranked 16th when we lost to them, Ole Miss 12th, and Bama 7th.
USC, by far, has the better resume in comparison to the SEC's 3 loss teams. Now I will agree with one of the posters, Bama gets the nod because it's Bama.
I'll even throw in A&M, losses to ND (7), USC, and Auburn. Their record is better than Ole Miss and Bama.

Ahh, yes, the classic better loss argument instead of better win argument that was prevalent in the BCS era.

No, they get the nod because they beat USCe head-to-head.

Same with Alabama.
USCe’s problem is that they have the same record as 2 teams that beat them. USC better be resting for auburn and Texas next week.

We don't play Auburn or Texas next week

If you want to look at the "Better Wins", then I think USC has Ole Miss and Bama beat. A&M probably has the better wins of the bunch, but USC is having the better finish to the season. If A&M beats UTw, I think they get the nod. If USC beats Clempson, they should get the nod.
But, in this day and age, losses count more than wins. Unfortunately. I would prefer we go back to the BCS model.

Suppose Alabama loses to Auburn?

Hate to say it, but the committee is not putting South Carolina in over a national brand unless there is no alternative. If it is close, Bama gets in over SC every time.
Two things.
1) Bama fatigue.
Isn't that one of the reasons they stated the playoffs to begin with?
2) Everyone loves an underdog story....

Ole Miss and Bama both have 2 better wins than USCe with wins over UGA and USCe.
Ole Miss wins:
UGA
USCe
OU
Arkansas
Bama wins:
UGA
USCe
LSU
Mizzou
USCe wins:
A&M
Mizzou
Vanderbilt
OU

In this scenario, you'd have to add a win by USC over Clemson.
Nothing to sneeze at.
Recency bias is also at play. If Carolina wins out, they would unequivocally be the hottest team in the country, with wins over multiple top-25 teams.
No one else can say that.
I'm not saying that they do get in. Just that there's a stronger argument than is being credited. At the moment, our best win is also ND's calling card. But that changes next Saturday assuming a win over Clemson.

I fixed my error. Meant to say USC is the only 3 loss team that has a chance

A Clemson team that was demolished by UGA, who lost to Bama and Ole Miss, who both beat USCe.
I just don't see a way to rationalize putting a 3 loss USCe in the playoff over a 3 loss Bama or 3 loss Ole Miss, given the above that happened on the field during the season, no matter how well USCe is playing to end the season.
Results on the field have to matter at some point.

Late losses always hurt more than early losses. This isn't new, and it hasn't changed. I don't think we make it in, but that doesn't change that point.

If it came down to South Carolina or just ole miss or bama with 3 losses I could see usc getting because they have been better lately but I don't see them putting a team with 3 losses ahead of 2 teams that also have 3 losses and beat them head to head.
