Those past stats mean nothing lol. Bama wouldn't have faced a team like UGA all year. They're the most physical team in the sec this year.. by far

Yep. If the #1 team in the nation losses in a close contest in the SECCG, and other potential playoff contenders have 1 loss to lesser opponents, I think it's reasonable the Alabama be considered.

I don't care what kind of team UGA is.. pro style, spread.. They're tough af. Not saying Bama isn't.. imo UGA is tougher.

I'm not arguing with you, but basically it would be the worst loss of the Saban era. With a pretty good Alabama team.

That'd be impressive to say the least.

If those 2 teams played right now, UGA wins, close.

If they meet in the SECCG, UGA may beat em by 17.. UGA is scary good, imo.

Uh huh

What decade are you from again

Disco was just falling out of style the last time Georgia hit anyones radar

This is the year though. Really this time. We really really mean it.

Yawn

The idea that being a conference champion is a resume builder is a logical fallacy. It’s like saying that two people who did the exact same community service are different because one got some sort of award for it.

Why would we ever put a 12-1 conference champion with less impressive results in over a 12-1 non-conference with more impressive results.

already preppin for the letdown I see.

Nope. The LSU letdown is old news. At least we wait until the season starts to tell people we have a very good team. Some fan bases talk from January until September, or until Troy beats them.

Meet 12-0 in the sec championship does the loser go to the playoffs? I think they probably should but won't.

No. The conference has lost too much cred because of its OOC record. This is why it pisses me off to hear clowns say that they want SEC teams to lose to OOC teams...it destroys everybody's strength of schedule.

come on man, Mark Richt created Letdown U in Athens and then left to take Miami to the playoffs.

Georgia is closer than LSU to the playoffs, and it seems they will be for a long time to come. I'm shocked LSU fans still think they are the top of the pecking order.

Nobody matches up with Alabama right now. nobody. However, if you discount Georgia...actually, if Alabama discounts Georgia based on the past they can be upset. That would be a tough way to miss the playoffs.

FIFY

LSU riding coattails of Alabama. Again.
What makes you so certain the West is better than the East this year? I actually do, but the gap is very, very narrow right now.

As a loser in a close game, Alabama yes. Georgia, no. Georgia doesn't have that clout with the committee just yet. In a close loss, both deserve to go.

The only way it happens is if there are a lot of 2 loss conference champions.

good lord, that would be similar to 2011 all over again if Miami were to win that game

Not really. Alabama was clearly the better team in 2011.

I do, too.

IT should not happen, but I think there is a strong desire to keep two teams from the SEC out.

Agreed. they do not want two teams from the same conference in the playoff. And thta includes all conferences.

I tend to agree with you. It might take a few really good years to gain that credibility. I hope we have a few good years in us.
