Cam Newton is a real jerk. If the allegations are true, Auburn is going to get hammered. His selfishness will have cost his teammates, future players and the fans of the experience of college football.

Similar to the Reggie Bush thing, because of his misdeeds, guys that were years away from attending USC are being punished.

I agree. It really is a fricked up situation. And what kind of church accepts money like that?

It's usually the actions of one or two people that cost dozens of others. Alabama suffered for nearly a decade because of the actions of a few. I can't say I'll have sympathy, considering what happened to Alabama, and how we were told to "shut up and take our beating".

isnt his dad a reverend?

it's basically a good idea to to not trust any preachers of struggling churches who know any high profile athletes

i could argue that his teammates would rather have had this happen than to not have him come to auburn at all.

just playing devil's advocate

Ditto. It's on the dad, but Auburn is fixing to get hammered now... Hate to see this. Regardless of hoists the trophy, this will always be known as the "Cameron Newton" season...

If true, I doubt he is the only teammate getting paid. I mean Auburn was asking for this. You don't hire a 5-19 coach and suddenly pull a top 5 class out of thin air. This is like a NASCAR team making illegal engine adjustments except the adjustments makes the car go 30 mph faster.

so be 10-0 with a shot at the national title which is likely to be yanked away from them and be barred from any bowls for years to come

or have a slightly worse record with a shot at a decent bowl game year after year

Consider the facts. Kid goes to FLA gets in trouble makes poor decisions. (Not terribly uncommon) Goes to Juco and lets Dad handle recruitment.

Yes Cam has some responsibility in this no doubt but as I said in my post

I blame the Dad a whole lot more.

Did a bama fan really just use a NASCAR analogy?
