North Carolina. New state, new markets.
Then either Virginia or Virginia Tech. Virginia Tech for football, obviously, but Virginia would be a more prestigious pick overall.
I don't think any of that is happening.

Idk why anyone is still talking about this crap. The funny thing is is that ESPN started all this crap and the fricked the SEC royally by reworking the puss of a conference the ACC'S deal, leaving us dead in the water at 14

Entice Texas to come (they might be willing since the LHN is an obvious failure) by dropping A&M while also adding OU. You would have to accept some redundancy by taking Okie Lite, whose tethered to OU.

Rips people for talking about getting schools from a conference with a GOR, immediately says to get schools from a different conference with a GOR
Brilliant!

I would like to see unc & uva, but I wouldn't mind nc state and Virginia tech.

Assuming that GOR are unmovable and the 5 conferences want to go to 16 each, that means 80 total big time football programs. Who of this list, made up rpi rankings from last year, and located in a general sec territory, would the SEC look at?

I don't see any that would be worth an invite due to diminishing returns.

Lets see how he does next year. His first year in a real league didn't go as well.
He also lost a lot of key players from he year before. TCU could easily become the top team in the Big XII. They play offense to win the shootouts, and they'll far and away have the best D in that league most years.

Hand ball state, do not want. In Carolinas they do not even know the football is oblong (quoted from Brother Bill Oliver).
Posted on 5/11/13 at 9:00 pm to nc14
We beat y'all 35-21 with a non-oblong football?
Posted on 5/11/13 at 9:06 pm to CockRocket
14 is not a bad number if it goes to 9 conference games. Sit back and wait 5 or 10 years and see if any big flagships become avail.

See I think the GOR. Is a big deal and is going to be used to force the playoffs hand. I think it will be set up as 5 conf champions and 3 wildcards, but they ( ESPN, FOX, CBS) are going to want a seperate division, the could force a 6th conference , but I jst don't think they could get the cache' needed. So I think with in 4 years we will go to 8 team playoff from 5 conferences.

FSU and Clemson. Alternate would be to bring GaTech back.

I just don't see any of them leaving the ACC now . Why?

That conference is crashing and burning. If ever a conference should have stuck to a small number, they are the one. Too many private schools to be competitive with any sustainability.

Yes , and it basically gives all the member institutions in a sense the plague why would the SEC want any team from a conference with a GOR, there is no upside. You can have the team but not the money from the market. That won't happen. I can see the ACC adding. UCONN and then USF, CINN, UCF or Memphis. The big 12 will probably add Houston SMU they will probably go after byu and usf of UCF to get into Florida the PAC 12 will probly take the biggest names east of the current conference footprint and try to lock down thier market. The big will do the same. I think if the sec invests into ECU, it could be the player in NC, think of Va tech in late 90's right before their program went big. That's East Carolina
