I'm a hater cause I say stuff that you disagree with?

You finished 3rd in your division this past year. That's pretty mediocre.
If a top 5 national ranking is mediocre, I'd like more mediocrity please.

And im only 20 but i know a&m was a legit program in the 80s and 90s. Before you say stupid shite, at least make sure you are saying something that has a little truth to it

You are a hater because you're clearly being antagonistic towards A&M just to "get back" at the Aggie posters who struck you as delusional.

intredasting. noted.

That tells me much--about multiple things. Your posts make more sense to me now. I'm 40. When I was an undergraduate, Texas A&M never--in all four seasons--lost a game at Kyle Field (to include an undefeated/one-tie season in 1994). Our end-of-season rankings were as follows:
1991
1. Washington
2. Miami (Fla.)
3. Penn State
4. Florida State
5. Alabama
6. Michigan
7. California
8. Florida
9. East Carolina
10. Iowa
11. Syracuse
12. Notre Dame
13. Texas A&M
1992
1. Alabama
2. Florida State
3. Miami (Fla.)
4. Notre Dame
5. Michigan
6. Texas A&M
7. Syracuse
8. Georgia
9. Stanford
10. Washington
1993
1. Florida State
2. Notre Dame
3. Nebraska
4. Florida
5. Wisconsin
6. West Virginia
7. Penn State
8. Texas A&M
9. Arizona
10. Ohio State
1994
1. Nebraska
2. Penn State
3. Colorado
4. Florida State
5. Alabama
6. Miami (Fla.)
7. Florida
8. Texas A&M
9. Auburn
10. Utah
We weren't world-beaters, but we didn't suck.
And, yes, we've always underperformed.

Sorry, sometimes I forget that a Cotton Bowl win is an outstanding end to the season for most teams. The two better teams in your division are in the title hunt almost every year though, so that kind of ending would be a bit of a disappointment to us.
It is cool that you're content with the status quo though!

I have to ask realistically, why will A&M be worse without Johnny than South Carolina has ever been?
No shite our team wouldn't be as good without the most outstanding college football player of the year, but we have been recruiting our tails off since the move. We should have some pretty solid depth on both sides of the ball next year.
When we first moved lots of posters claimed "it'll take five years for aggy to beat LSU or BAMA" and it took one. Whats to say we won't have up and down years where we lose to both and beat both?

A&M has had these resources for a long time, but have been nothing better than mediocre. Why is that so ridiculous of me to doubt A&M's future success?

Indeed, it is. If all teams were to use proximity to/involvement in the national title hunt as their sole indicator of success, all but maybe two to four fan bases would be miserable human beings.
I'm cool with where we are now.

they'd first have to be better than mediocre...
but either way, yes they would be mediocre as always.

Reading your thread got me thinking about a hypothetical conference with Texas. If they join the conference here is how I'd rank SEC football programs.
1. Alabama
end of transmission - overlord dominance secured
I am not sure I would put the longhorns at #3 tho. Probably put them around the team you left off the list. Hogs have have 2 decades head start so the folks in austin would have to catch up with that first before being put ahead of LSU, UGA, and an upward trending UT. If the Vols can't get their sheet straight in the next 5 years they may fall far enough behind to fall off the radar.
