I was just referring to a worst case scenario. Not calling for it.

OBJ is too famous and revered by Black athletes to be banned from anything at LSU. Plus, he's an LSU football legacy. He won't be banned.

How about they just go back to the good ole days...obj can donate a million or so to the children hospital and they can distribute it to the recruits as needed.

A TYPICAL SEASON IS 12 GAMES LESS BOWLS AND CHAMP' GAMES. 1/2 THE SEASON IS 6 GAMES. HALF OF 6 = 3 GAMES. SO, FIRST PART OF A 12 GAME SEASON = 1/4 OF THE SEASON OR 3 GAMES. SEE HOW THAT WORKED?

Do you really think all these NFL players whose best friends may still be on the team don't come back and take current players out to dinner or buy them something at a store.
It happens all the time.

I'm sure these NFL players hook their friends up with NFL game tickets.

pretty sure if they were former team mates and friends they're not restricted from doing things like that. But that's not what happened here. Odell is not a former team mate of anyone on the team. The only guy on the team he may have had a long-lasting prior relationship with was Justin Jefferson. Nonetheless, Odell would be considered a booster and what he did was fricking idiotic. He's gone from being a distraction on his own team to being a distraction on teams he doesn't even play for.

cant he just give it to the whole team, I think I remember LeBron giving OSU players shoes before their game. I believe the rule has to be for the whole team not just 1 or 2 players.

No doubt it's just crazy that it was straight up cash handshakes right there in front of a national broadcast camera.

Then LSU absurdly releases the statement that it's "fake cash"? Like anyone believes that?

I don't think they need to be punished or anything but when it's right in front of the camera and then the stupid arse fake money statement wouldn't you think NCAA has to address it to save face just a little bit?

Yes. This type of behavior by any individual that is connected to the school in any way really needs to be addressed by the school. I'll be surprised if LSU doesn't publicly reprimand OBJ with some type of suspension from school activities for a significant period of time. Hell, the SCHOOL needs to save face.

Dude, he was handing out cash on the fricking football field. And our compliance department is like the guy that calls 911 when you get drunk and start puking in the parking lot, then sticks you with the ambulance bill.

I have a feeling that someone in compliance or the administration will politely ask OBJ to stay away for a while.. they’ll take it out of Orgeron’s hands so he won’t be the bad guy. The only potentially complicating factor is all of the money he’s donated to LSU, but I think there are bigger-money boosters who would be shunned for less.

I suspect the BoT will step in on something like this. If the AD or president doesn't do anything about it, they should.
