Why would they come here? They belong in the Big 12.

Nebraska and Arkansas to the Big 12 makes some sense. They aren’t happy in the Big 10 and really never have been.
frick...just give me back the Big 8 and I’ll be happy

Yes, they have a great fanbase. Maybe the most loyal in the country but coming from a “these Yankees just don’t belong” type like yourself...please know these people have literally nothing at all in common with Southern culture. That’s not a bad thing,
They have way more in common with most of Missouri.
I've lived all over, you don't know what you think you know about me. I have spent about as much time in other parts of the country as I have the south. I was just raised in the south.
Spent about 30% of my life just on the west coast. Most of them don't really care about college football, and the ones that do are usually fans of other blueblood teams. Not a good fit culturally.
So do you mean people in Nebraska don't have the same accent? They say "pop" and if you ask for a coke, they'll bring you a coca-cola even though they've never seen you drink one ever? If you say go to a store, they'll take you to the grocery store/walmart and you'll have to be specific and say gas/service station? Crop festivals in smaller farm towns?
Pretty much like Alabama other than silly shite like that. You'll find those kinds of cultural difference in the southern states anyway. Hell in Alabama alone there are probably 3 different accents depending on what part of the state you live in, maybe more.
Haven't spent a ton of time in Missouri, but what little bit I spent there and from what I've seen in the media, it's nothing like Nebraska.

Very little to offer in # of t.v. markets. Way too far north. Poor football team since F. Solich left.
So, no!
So, no!

Oh, ok. So Missouri is just like Alabama too other than the ways it is different
Got it

^Real reasons not to add them. But they would probably be an average SEC team, maybe slightly above. So wouldn't say poor, but probably not a contender for championships.

I told you why they are a good fit culturally. As far as culture goes, I'd love to add them and Oklahoma.
Tell me why you don't think they are a good fit culturally.
To be honest I don't really want to add more teams, I'd rather drop back down to 12. But if it was making a new conference on nothing but culture, Nebraska would be in easy.
This is why you are not the one making the right decision of needed a large TV market and major cities like St. Louis and Kansas City that have Pro sports. This is how it works nowadays. Texas in the Big 12 is losing money due to lack of TV market from other states like Iowa, Kansas, West Virginia, and Oklahoma. The State of Texas have too teams and it is not helping with the TV market. OSU would be a better one or Michigan from the Big 10. Nebraska should go back to the Big 12 if they get another good school that have good TV market.

The discussion was about culture, not TV markets.
Nebraska isn't going to be added for multiple reasons.

And what the frick is Missouri?
Dude come to Missouri, go to Branson. I swear to God. SEC people ya'll would love Missouri out in the country. Even towns like St. Louis and Columbia have just as much conservative influence as liberal.
Also re: Nebraska, frick Nebraska but if the whole conference decides they're a good add, then at least Missouri can play them again. Missouri tries to schedule them all the time but they always say no, ostensibly because of some drama, but really they are afraid to lose to us because of recruiting implications, to be fair that's why I'd like to play them I guess.
Actual logical answer: Nebraska is a fading brand, let them crawl back to the big 12 if they are stupid enough to leave the Big 10, the SEC doesn't need to go outside the footprint to add rebuilding brand teams it just needs to be patient, if Nebraska leaves the Big 10 the Big 10 looks real shaky, just wait until the big stuff is ready to go down and pounce before everyone else.

Fact: Only 3 SEC teams own a winning record against Nebraska.
Alabama
Arkansas
Ole Miss

I don't understand all of these ppl thinking these B1G teams will jump conferences. You do realize they wouldn't be on the schedule for any conf. who may play this year, right?

Are you talking about Tennesse or Arkansas? There are about 4 teams that fit criteria
Posted on 8/12/20 at 5:14 am to BZ504
I was one of the few that thought Missouri would fit in nicely. The southern part of that state is not much different than Arky and west Tennessee.
I was wrong.

We could put Mizzou, Arkansas, and Nebraska is the Midwestern Division of the Southeastern Conference.
Could add Oklahoma as well.
Then BYU, Hawaii, San Diego State, and UNLV for the travel division.
Let’s grab the Fiji Rugby team and Manchester United.
