If Murray State wins Sankey will be out there coming up w/reasons why they shouldn't have actually even been allowed into the playoffs in the first place while demanding SEC teams get a bye to Omaha.

they were the last team taken of the at-large bids. Quite different than being the worst team in the tournament
Fresno entered the 2008 WAC tournament with a 33-27 record. They swept through the WAC tournament, got a 4 seed, and won the CWS. They also faced 6 elimination games in postseason play. No one else can match that run as a Cinderella

Has there been a 4 seed from the SEC?
Usually the 4 seeds are for the auto qualifiers from lower conferences.
3 seeds are usually as low as you can get from a major conference.
OM was the last team in in 2022.

Ok Skippy tell me the last SEC team that was a lower than a 3 seed in a regional.
Usually 80–95% of the 4 seeds are automatic qualifiers.
In most years, all 16 4 seeds are automatic qualifiers, or at most 1–2 are weak at-large teams.
So the last team in, is not a automatic qualifier, it is usually 99% of the time a 3 seed from a major conference.
I thought LSU fans knew more about college baseball than this fart sniffer
