Remember when everyone told them they captured lightning in a bottle and they insisted they were built to sustain?

Forgot who it was that brought in Burrow. Any idea?

I think there’s a very good argument for it to be one of the best teams and seasons.
Bama has had a dynasty but not many Bama teams would have beat that lsu team. They were special and very fun to watch.

Despite the bitching about Leslie, he brought in talent. All you needed was Burrow to finish it off.

In fairness, Orgeron was the recruiting coordinator on that staff and recruited most of those players as well as others, like Burrow and Chase, Les had nothing to do with. The problem with Orgeron isn't and has never been getting talent. He just doesn't know how to develop them or hire good assistants around him. He got lucky finding Brady and was able to convince Aranda to stay on staff. Same thing happened at Ole Miss. He recruited pretty well but had no idea how to coach the team. Hosuton Nutt takes over and they immediately have b2b 9 win seasons

LSU was embarrassed that Tom Herman used them as leverage for the Texas job. They panicked & took the easy pick.
What’s crazy was giving O a 6 year, $42 million extension…..when nobody was coming after him & he was going nowhere

Only one person was embarrassed and his name is Joe Alleva. Not a single LSU was pleased with how he handled all of that, quite the opposite.

Alleva was that bad

Got conned into hiring a shrimp boat captain and a convicted felon to run the LSU football program.

And he tried to get rid of Will Wade.

And delayed the firing of Les the year earlier.

On top of all the shite he pulled at Duke.

Dude is arse
