It’s no wonder they disbanded the program.

You try so hard, but you're just not very good.

I would think a very low percentage of the best players in the NBA over the past 25 years won a national championship in college.

UGA didn't even make the NCAAT with Anthony Edwards. In fact, they finished 13th in the SEC out of 14 teams.

Texas lost in the 2nd round with Kevin Durant

Tim Duncan played 4 years in college. 2 second round exits, 1 in the sweet 16, 1 in the Elite 8

Charles Barkley played in the NCAAT 1 time in 3 years at Auburn. They lost in the first round

Even more egregious considering Chris Jackson and Stanley Roberts were on the court too.

Jackson and Roberts only played with Shaq his freshman season. Roberts only played one season of college basketball period. He was ineligible his freshman season and left after one season of actually playing. LSU lost by 3 to Ga Tech in the second round. GA Tech went on to the Final Four.

I remember when LSU played UTEP in the sweet 16 and Tim Hardaway Sr. was matched up with Chris Jackson. Chris Jackson played with two sprained ankles in that game. UTEP beat LSU. Tim Hardaway handled Chris Jackson pretty easily that day.

That was a really good game. That Ga Tech team with Dennis Scott and Kenny Anderson was legit. Scott went 4th in the draft that year, Anderson went 2nd the following year. They had another first-rounder and a second-rounder in the starting lineup as well.

Shaq was always in foul trouble. He would bump someone and they would go flying. The refs didn't know what to do with someone that big, strong, and quick.

They didn't play. USL did have the same record as LSU and made it to the quarters after beating #4 Oklahoma.

Texas failed with Durant
Davison failed with Curry
Houston failed with Olajuwom & Drexler

Turns out coaching matters.....

Not really good comparison.

Most of the best players over the past 25 years one or a combination of the following:

1) Didn't play college in the US
2) were there only one or two years
3) Did not play at a major program (Steph Curry, Steve Nash)

I think your best comparison to Shaq's situation is going to be Tim Duncan (although Duncan came down with the flu and missed the Final 4 his 2nd year)

Well to be fair, lsu has been much worse since the burden of shaq was lifted.

LSU would lose due to Hack-a-Shack

Big Brickistotle could not make the front end of a 1-and-1 late in games.
