OSU played the best football that day then they ever have in school history

I doubt that. Since they didn’t win a natty that year, I would think their defensive coordinator was arse cheeks at that time

Which is why OSU and IU having a lot of weak teams on their schedule is an unfair advantage. Look up the number of snaps their starters play compared to everyone else. They get to stay fresh and minimize injury risk

All teams with bye weeks are at a disadvantage. Last year OSU had only Tenner to start off. Georgia, Oregon, Boise and Arizona State had bye weeks and all lost.

Not if the offense doesn’t meet the bare minimum requirements (it doesn’t).

They didn't just lose. They got their asses stomped 26-7. It's one of those games where they didn't win the turnover battle and field position. If a good team limits mistakes against them, they should win.
First it was 23-6, and that game was 13-6 in the fourth quarter when Texas got a PR TD on an obvious no call for block in the back that even the announcers pointed out. Another FG closed it out. I still think Texas wins that game, but this whole Texas stomped them, is bullshite, and they know it. This is completely ignoring the fact that Mateer shouldn't have started that game and was not even close to 100%. OU is not that team anymore.
All of that being said, I would not bet on OU to get much further than Bama or maybe Indiana.

OU had a great offense and a heisman leader for just less than half the season. Mateer injury and losing half the OL to injury definitely made the back half of the season look like shite. There’s nothing to say that Mateer isn’t fully healed, most of the OL is now healthy(including the starting center) and R mason thomas is back on defense. IF the offense can even be decent OU is built to win it all.

I think Oklahoma or Alabama is going to boat race them. I’m still not sold on them.

I think Indiana may be legit

Ohio State has the best defense. May have 4 first-round draft picks.

I don’t think the bye is a disadvantage if you play in a CCG, it’s the same amount of time off really

Last year the bye teams lost because Boise and ASU were the make a wish slots, and Oregon and UGA ran into the top 2 teams

Balance wins mainly

I would have a good offense, def, and special team then be great in one and terrible at the others
