Do we need to continue or do you want to just admit that calling out bad defensive performances as disqualifiers for this silly "greatest team" thing is probably not the best move given some of the games that the 2019 LSU turned in on defense?

While this is no doubt one of Nick's best teams ever but LSU beat 7 top 10 teams last year at the time they played them.
This will never happen again in our lifetime. As much as you all hate it and I can understand that, LSU's 2019 was the best season in college football history without a doubt with a QB who threw 60 TD's.

No. Bama does have a phenomenal offense and have won in dominant fashion outside of last night (I was surprised UF put up 45 and had a chance to win in the 4th), but the SEC is really down this year. There are only five winning teams in the SEC this year and the only scoring defense inside the top 20 is Bama at #20. I've never seen anything like that. SEC defense has never been so bad. The SEC usually has multiple teams in the top 10 for scoring D. Last year, LSU beat 5 of the final top 8 teams, but also beat 5 top 20 defenses including dominating the #1, #3 and #7 teams in final scoring defense. And they beat 7 of the final top 25 teams.
If Bama wins, it will be a great accomplishment due to all the COVID stuff, etc. They have been laser-focused in a tough season to be focused, but when you have a 6-0 team in the playoffs and a team like aTm which only beat two winning teams at #5, it's a weak field of teams.

I seem to remember LSU being criticized for bad D I agree. But look up the last 5 games after being called out by OSU for their complete team and their claim to #1. The End of the Season was what sealed LSU’s history season .

Totally agree - that defense down the stretch, especially the SECCG and playoffs, was hitting on all cylinders.

Don’t quite see what your saying LSU played bad against Auburn I give u that but they dominated them . I recalled it being 500 yards to like 200. And the game against Bama was never in question. LSU gave up a broken play that made it a closer game Orr it would have been a 2 score win. As stated earlier watch and see what history has as best teams in history, LSU , Miami01, Nebraska 95. You may not even be considered in the top 10. Sorry !!

Where did they finish though? You can't just pull an Ohio State and count where they are ranked 4 games into the season

The 2020 SECCG played out in a very similar fashion to the 2019 Alabama/LSU game. (33-13 v. 35-17 half time scores; onside kick late down one score; etc.). But we Alabama fans won't be claiming it as a blowout because we aren't seeking catharsis for years of humiliation.

2020 Bama reminds me a lot of 2018 Bama except your QB is right handed and not as fast. Does he still hold for FG’s?
