He won the MSU and Bama game with his arm. He cost Auburn the LSU and UF Game with his head. But you expect that out of a Freshman. I have been told by people who watch him every day, he is the best pure QB prospect AU has had since Stan White and the best duel threat QB since Cam. He would be a star in every one of the top programs in the SEC if he had signed with them. His biggest problem seems to be Gus.

I’m not trying to troll here. I just wonder is a freshman quarterback can be ruined by getting put out there too early and getting his head all wacked. He may end up being great, who knows. I only really watched him closely in the LSU - Auburn game and he did not look great at all. He looked to be running for his life and scared to death. I know that Lee was ruined by Les in his freshman year. Maybe Bo will play better next year but I didn’t see any more than a very young freshman that was talented but in over his head.

Then you really only saw him play in one of the toughest stadiums in front of one of the loudest crowds against a very talented defense?

He is fine, mainly due to his past coaching. Under the Offense under Gus he had very little touted to choice from and only 1/3rd of the field. He really only had two progressions and nobody to check down to. That is why you saw him bail out of the pocket a lot last year. It caused him to force to make plays. He didn’t throw an INT after the LSU game.Look for that same progression this year under Morris. Plus more receivers to throw to and a better running game.

Not having a check down is bad for any quarterback but especially bad for a freshman. A freshman needs to have a check down and have easy quick passes that gets the ball out quick. Asking too much from a freshman quarterback and putting them in bad situations due to scheme will frick a quarterback’s confidence up.

We need a RB, which we picked up with Tank.

Nope. We need an OL that can open holes in the run game. It was stupid to run off Boobie with no one experienced behind him and a new OL composed of Gus' shitshow scouting.

Boobee did that to himself.

If by QB you mean head coach and by Bo you mean Gus then you’re spot on

Confidence is one thing Nix doesn't lack.

that is simply not true. Two years starting experience is not going to easily be replaced. You saw how we struggled trying to replace Johnson until Boobie emerged as the starter.

And you know that Gus will trot sorry Shivers out there again to start the season because of that one Iron Bowl play. He did it in the bowl game,he will do it next season.

... besides Bo, they would totally be in the mix for SEC West champ and probably SEC champ too. But with Nix, they'll find a way to lose 2-3 yet again.

It's not Bo's fault that his HC hasn't recruited at an SEC caliber on the OL for the last 4 yrs.

I'll admit that Mac carried Auburn in the Iron Bowl.

AUs OL did not give up many sacks, the problem was play selection and route design.

Why are you under the impression that anyone ran Boobee off?

From everything I have heard Boobee had a problem missing class and meetings....if true...then good riddance.

Now I do think he will be missed but I think we have plenty of talent to replace him with. He probably would have been demoted to #2 or #3 back by the middle of the season.

Boobie only played because he was the only RB Gus trusted in pass protection. He had a Freshman QB and did wasn’t to take a chance getting him killed. Boo or was an average runner who had fumble issues.

Just one example..... 2nd qtr last year against Georgia on 4th and one with Whitlow on the wildcat... he was suppose to check back at Gus before snapping the ball. The jet sweep was open but Whitlow decided to hurry the play up and snapped instead of checking off. The receivers ran “choice” routes all season and chose the wrong ones. It start with Gus who has kept Kodi Burns At receivers coach and refuses to make a move. Kodi knows absolutely nothing about the receiver position. Players like Pickens, etc could read it like a book. Whitlow leaving was a blessing. Now move Kodi to another position and hire a damn good receivers coach.
