Our recruiting is on fire and the best is yet to come

Most people don't really understand this yet. They know we've recruited well, but they don't understand what a good position we're in to finish this year with a top 1 or 2 class.

This is the season that the stars aligned for the Aggies to finally make a run.

It was the season in which we replaced 4 starters on the OL. And then it was the season in which our starting QB suffered a season ending injury in the second game.

Lets say A&M drops one more game this year. 9-3 isn't anything to be upset about right?

Or is it?

This is the season that the stars aligned for the Aggies to finally make a run. Their OOC schedule is hilariously easy. LSU fired their coach midway through the year. They got the poo-poo platter out of the SEC East. Three teams in the SEC West are doing fairly substantial rebuilds. Ole Miss believes playing defense is against the rules. And they beat a wildly inconsistent Alabama team.

That is a once in a decade confluence of events. Yet they already have two losses to Arkansas and State. If they don't make it to the SEC Championship this year than when will they?

That has got to be the most Aggie thing ever. It's like WAOM but it's Aggie.

We ARE the eternal optimists.... and it gets a lot of pot shots. But I'd rather have that mentality as a fanbase than one of eternal despair. Yeah, lots of disappointment, but college football is awesome and it's all about the journey!

If we go 9-3 or 10-2 with our backup QB, who happens to be the lowest rated QB in the SEC, I can only find the positive in that.

pathetic!

I'd call pathetic waking up at midnight to post about a rival team on a message board, but maybe thats just me....

Nobody at A&M would be happy with a 9-3 or 10-2 result before the season started as yes this was supposed to be a year we challenged for the west. But a starting QB injury, injuries to the offensive line and wide receivers group put us behind the curve a bit, it's just part of the game. For what we went through, yes most A&M fans will be ok with a 9 or 10 win season, but certainly not "satisfied". it will still be a disappointment for what we wanted to begin the season.

Timing is everything, I'd bet most people here would agree we'd probably beat Arkansas and State were we to play now instead of earlier in the season. Oh well, you play the game with the cards you are dealt and that's what we got.
