That actually happened. Multiple news organizations in Texas wrote articles claiming that the success of A&M was proof of the Big 12's success.
Of course those articles completely vanished after the Cotton Bowl...

I don't know if they took credit, but they certainly used A&M's success to prop themselves up. Sad, really.
Of course the prop was kicked out when A&M destroyed the Big 12 champs. So it was all for naught in the end.
Nevertheless, they'll attempt to trivialize the Ags' 2013 Title. It will be glorious. I hope you all participate.

All OU and other big12 fans could talk about before the cotton bowl was crowing about how A&M's "big 12" offense was what propelled us to success in the SEC our first year. Even the fox announcers were talking about it during the cotton bowl broadcast.
