Dude, how long have you been following A&M football? We well NEVER be ranked #1. If we do get a shot at the NC, it won't be from the #1 spot. Way too many haters.

You might want to give the rankings another look, my man.

I think they would, if not they should. A&M would have won 9 in a row at that point including 2 W's over Bama. EVERYONE will be watching this game so it's hard to compare it to how things have gone in the past. It's also very early in the season and the rankings are not as firm.

I think anyone that doesn't vote A&M #1 will have a tough time justifying it.

You've got to think so, but I could see four teams splitting them: A&M, Oregon, Clemson, and Ohio State.

But if the majority of voters see their first place vote go down, they give it to A&M, right?

FWIW I would hate to be #1 so early in the year...

When you stop worrying about this stuff then you will stop being a wanna be fan fase.

If A&M were to beat Alabama, I'd guess that A&M would move to 2nd behind Oregon and Alabama would drop to fifth or sixth...A&M loses they'll still stay in the top ten unless they get blown out.

It will be the one not like the other 3 that gets left behind

Oregon = not in SEC
Clemson = not in SEC
Ohio State = not in SEC
Texas A&M = in SEC (and does not get moved to #1)

beating alabama is like beating oregon and Clemson in the same game, due to the SEC bias plus Alabama's success.

Surprised you have the energy to type that after tripling Mark May's total.

Here's the complete holy shite scenario.

1. Alabama - loses to A&M
2. Oregon - loses to Tennessee
3. Clemson - bye week
4. Ohio State - loses to Cal
5. Stanford - can't envision them losing to Army
6. Texas A&M - beats Alabama
7. Louisville - loses to Kentucky
8. LSU - not losing to Kent
9. Georgia - bye week
10. Florida State - not losing to Nevada

If this happens, your new top 10 is:

1. Clemson
2. Texas A&M
3. Stanford
4. LSU
5. Alabama
6. Florida State
7. Georgia
8. Oregon
9. Michigan
10. Ohio State

Even if A&M beats Bama, Oregon will move to #1 if they take care of business against the Vols. The Ducks are playing better than the Tide right now as it is.

Nope. No higher than 4 IMO. People are sick of SEC dominance and will vote with their butthurt instead of their brains.

Did you read that before posting? Oregon won't lose to UT. Oregon will cover the spread.

If A&M wins this weekend Oregon is your new Number 1.
