That's true, the plan was to use him as a decoy and throw to Metchie or Smith. OP makes a point, we are simply a better offensive with Waddle, but I disagree with him on a rematch. Bama would still win because they still have better players overall. If anything they played us when our defense was struggling and constantly out of position. I think Bama shuts down Mond completely in a rematch if they were to play now.

No, seriously. In 2012, we played them in November, after we’d lost to Gaytor and Swamp Kitten. Late in the season, though, we were unbeatable. They’ve never made that mistake again. Catch us early is the strategy.
