How's the 8 game schedule work w/ the pods?
If you are going to only use an 8 game conference schedule them you would assign every team 1 permanent cross-pod team. Every year 2 pods would be matched up together, and the other 2 pods would be matched up together. So lets say Bama was in pod 1. In year one, pod 1 would be matched up with pod 2 to form a division. So Bama would play the 3 teams in their pod, plus the 4 teams in pod 2, plus their cross-division rival which equals 8 games. Then the 2 divisional champs play in the SECCG. Then the next year pod 1 would be matched up with pod 3, and pod 4 the next year. So you would be playing every team every 3 years.
If you go to a 9 game schedule, then you would have a cross pod rival from each of the other pods. You would then play the 3 in your pod, the 4 in the pod you are matched up with, and the 2 cross pod teams that aren't in the pod you are currently matched up with.

This ranking is just my opinion of where programs stand right now with taking their history into account. Then I just placed them in groups of 4, and kinda tried to preserve rivalries where it made sense.

Yeah, East is super beast, while the North is just godawful. Not a good setup IMO.

UF/UG not in the same division?
You can take that setup, shine it up all nice, turn that son of a bitch sideways, and stick it straight up your candy arse!!!

Moving to a nine game schedule is probably going to happen if there is an expansion

The butthurt would be incredible if we went to 9 conference games and dropped FSU.

With 9 conference games it would come down to the decision of dropping FSU or no WLOCP.

I know this may sound insensitive, but Reggie White is dead and Peyton is one of the oldest guys in the NFL. RIP RW...

I wouldn't care about dropping FSU. I actually want them in the SEC so we don't have to worry about that. They have been broke forever and all they do is steal from the State of Florida anyway. Let them in so they can get a taste of a real schedule.
Need to go to 9 games so you can play every team not in your pod every other year. It is the best way for schedule equality. Rivals not in the same PODs can schedule a non conference game every other year.

Your not going to seperate TN,KY and Vandy. And VT will most likely be the fourth member. Yes, I know it will represent a weak-looking division. But not for long, and besides, if we go to 9 conference games it will not matter anyway.

According to my friend in the administration, this coming June, we will officially be in the SEC. Talks with the SEC have been going on for a very, very long time.
Keep it on the down-low, though.

Allrightythen...shhh, mum's the word...

No way it happens that fast. Too much logistics involved and legal wrangling which you cannot keep under wraps. These are public universities.
