Is a successful year in this 9 SEC game format and era for all teams in the SEC but:
Texas - this was supposed to be the year for Arch Manning, went out and outbid everyone for last year’s weaknesses.
Ole Miss - brought back 2 pre season Heisman favorites and majority of the roster, if they were to ever win it all it would be this year.
Georgia - easiest schedule of the SEC schedules, brought back a team who was really good and young last year with another year of experience under their belt.

Anyone I’m missing? Everyone else had new pieces in key positions and staff changes. Most coaching changes in 1 offseason I’ve ever seen in my lifetime for the conference.

I think I’m leaning more towards 8-4 being borderline successful than 9-3 with how the NIL/ portal parity and 9 game schedule.

It's going to be a good record in any power conference

Bama has a ton of injuries but that’s no excuse to get bullied yesterday. Act like you want to be there at least. Coach like you want to be there.

Id argue with that, no other conference has 90% of their teams really pushing NIL and trying their hardest to be competitive within football.

Agree. The CFP should first be populated with SEC tams who are 9-3 or better. The remaining spots can go to 10-2 or better non-SEC teams.

Not how the world works. Outside of the SEC nobody cares. You will get your wish next year when all you need is to be in the T25

It’s one less layup game to rest players
It was a grind before and it’s even harder now

Sad that 9-3 is now going to be considered good and have a chance for a title. It really makes all championship teams starting next year not nearly as impressive as 2019 LSU 2011 Bama 2009 Bama 2010 auburn 2003 LSU 06 UF and 08 UF and the two UGA teams.

Now it’s going to be like a nfl wild card team winning the Super Bowl or basically turned the sport into March madness which doesn’t exactly crown the best team because it could just be hottest or one that got a easy path. Sometimes the best team wins but not like CFB where almost every year the best team truly won.

Pollsters and the “committee” have never stopped punishing strong scheduling. Computer rankings are the answer. Those people don’t watch all relevant games. It’s not even possible for a human to watch all games.

How about an LSU team that spent $50 million on players, $5 million on coordinators, and $15 million on a head coach?

All of the top competitors rosters are somewhere between 35-50 and no one knows the real order.

We had to bring in a full qb room, oline room and wr room. So yea we spent alot but we had to because BK managed to have no sec worthy oline men other than Moore and Davis- Bo Bordelone and his 12 pff pass blocking grade don’t belong. When you have to bring in 50 guys and rebuild 3 rooms you are going to spend a lot.

Congrats though yall have the best qb in the country and if you can’t win it this year you will never win it.

That’s as dumb as saying if LSU couldn’t win with that defense in 2011 they would never win another title. Or if LSU couldn’t win with Burrow they would never win.

Future years are completely unrelated to what happens this year

SEC didn’t allow LSU to roster injunction or 6th year players either.

Yes good years are plentiful for the rebels in history and they do have a walk of champions so it’s incredibly likely that chambliss is just another great rebel and ole Miss will rise to dominance again.

Plus we all know Pete Golding is elite and built the program. He is in no way Larry Coker or Les Miles

Truth
No one outside the sec is going to give sec teams a bump this year. Next year everyone gets in so it won’t matter.

That comparatively, in year one, is doing as good as a perennial powerhouse team. And most of the conference.

I’ll take those results.
