not exactly slow but Lacy still posted a 4.4 in the 40....
guessing hand timed? IMO the 2nd time that he posted on teague's link seems more accurate with his game speed. Not saying he is slow at all because a 4.59 is good for a running back of his build, but it does seem more realistic

The Gumps don't like this version. They prefer the TR was injured and LSU was lucky he didn't run 200 yards on us version better.

However Scout/Rivals list him at running a 4.4 in the 40.
Oh and that link that Teague posted.... those 40 times are guesses as well.... Not clocked times

The week after spring training is NOT a time for being realistic you silly tiger!

Only at Bama is the 2nd team QB and RB better than everyone elses, including their own.
I remember when Mark Ingram was so awesome and the 'Bama fans were saying that Richardson was even better. Now Ingram is gone and Richardson has his moment to shine and the 'Bama fans are pumping up Lacy.
Few fans were saying McCarron would be a star and was better than GMac. Now they are all pumping up Simms.
We should all just give up. 'Bama can win championships with their starters and the backups are even better. They will win back to back championships from now until the end of time.
ETA: frick, wrong quote.
going fix...

Problem with using those times is that Lacey has grown since then both in height and muscle. We will get a better idea of what he runs come summer when all the teams post the player's marks

LSU is filled with good running backs so I doubt it.
Now if Eddie was a stud qb or a badass linebacker, they might miss him but he was at a loaded position where there was no need to take a chance or upset another player ranked higher on their board at the time.

Trent has been my favorite since the moment he stepped on campus. I thought he was better than Ingram during Ingrams Heisman run.

I still remember LSU fans saying Ford was better than both T-Rich and Lacy.

So we shouldn't be excited about the future?

Ford looked pretty damn good when he played last year. I was very impressed with him.
Then we saw Ware play. The guy is just fricking impressive. The last guy i thought was as good as him was Alley Broussard (and he showed it). Kevin Faulk before him

So would you agree with Ford being better than both like LSU fans said on Signing Day 2009?

The 2011 season hasn't even started and you are already worried about your backup running back and what other fans think of him.

he may not be better, but he was rated close enough to be a better signing. We didn't know if Lacey would qualify and he did have the character issues surrounding him. It wasn't worth the risk when we had players just as good and better in the same class at the same position.
He would be a tiger if he wasn't an idiot in high school, in and out of the classroom
