He quite literally said that Texas A&M was never a military institution.

Join the ranks of the uninformed bro.

Btw: It's still the Top Dog SMC in the country.

I think most people are probably uninformed about A&M's history.

I assumed he was talking about service academies because of the required service bit.

Senior Military College

quote:

The six Senior Military Colleges in the United States are: The Citadel, Norwich University, Virginia Military Institute, Texas A&M University, University of North Georgia, and Virginia Tech. These institutions are distinguished by their blend of academic study and military training, with a focus on leadership development and preparing students for commissioning as officers in the U.S. Armed Forces.

The U.S. Military is still very much involved with Texas A&M as it commissions more officers than any institution outside of the 5 Service Academies

You used the war as a justification for the crystal football trophy, which has nothing to do with the guys who would later go to war nor did any other school feel the need to do likewise.

Man I hate being kind of a dick on this topic because of my own background, but honestly
quote:

Senior Military College

Seems like just a beefed up ROTC program. Which is awesome, but just to keep things relative.

To the unintelligent, I’m not saying ATMs thing is shite, I’m saying it’s just slightly better than many other schools’ military programs. And I could be wrong.

I was keeping things relative to reality.

A&M was a Military School until 1965 and it's roots are drenched in it still.

The U.S. Military does value and has always valued Texas A&M.

Explains why we haven’t won a war for a long time.

Well I’m glad they have added a trophy for the championship that was won. It was getting lonely in there…

Okie State (aggies) did the same thing for 1945. Exact same trophy.

My favorite is how they claim 2 Big 12 titles where they didn’t even make the conference championship game in one and lost by like 40 in the other. They have them on their fricking stadium
And we thought Ole Miss was bad for this

Ole Miss' 1960 football title is officially recognized by the NCAA.
