You guys at least got the victory and escaped the game w/out any key injuries... obviously the 2 most important factors.

It's only important if we change Quarterbacks, otherwise it's just the same problem we've had every year for the past decade.

Nutcase QB who can't do anything right outside of a few plays here and there, which causes our rushing to suffer immensely, which leads us to being unable to pass the ball.

The OL was fine, we gave up one sack the entire game and Franks stupidly stood in the pocket looking all over the field several times.

The problem is: If the running game is going to work, he has to hit easy passes -- and so far he has shown that he cannot. In his third year as a starter, fourth on campus, he still has trouble identifying checkdowns and hitting them. He missed two or three in this game, had two fumbled handoffs -- I really think the rest of the team is fine but we just have a potato for a QB.

quote:

Your defense is obviously talented and very good but looks like it lacks depth and WHY was CTG blitzing so much? Your D-line had a massive advantage over Miami's O-line. I get the 13 sacks deal but he still created gaps in the defense for Enos to exploit.1st and 20 and he goes with a corner blitz?WTF?

Really, we were absolutely fine on defense for the vast majority of the game until we run into this sort of apathy that has plagued Florida for the last decade.

Our offense goes out and gives the ball up four times, the defense absolutely stalwarts the other team over and over again until finally they say: What exactly are we playing for right now?

Miami made 8 yards in the 3rd quarter. We had 10 sacks. You can see it in a microcosm in the drive chart for the first half.

Miami: FG
Florida: TD
Miami: 3 and out.
Florida: Fumble.
Miami: 3 and out.
Florida: Fumble.
Miami: Field Goal.
Florida: 3 and out.
Miami: Touchdown.

In the third Quarter, like I said, they only gained 8 yards.

When your defense is just plugging the other team and you continually keep that team in the game, it gets really frustrating. We're just very fortunate it was Miami.

Change at QB, a new life, new spark, and I guarantee you we'll see a new team. I just feel sorry for whatever team plays are our backup.

Florida fans are already making excuses for him.

Do you think he did well? If you had to give him a grade tonight -- on field and off-field behavior, what would you give him?

Obviously I'll give him an F+ because his stats were okay, but I really want to know what you guys think.

I wasn't able to watch the game as a whole, so I won't offer an opinion until I do. But understand, the way he conducts himself is gonna probably lead many to be more critical than they should be.

90 - 99 = A
80 - 89 = B
70 - 79 = C
60 - 69 = D
00 - 59 = F

F. Franks grade vs. Miami = 70

C-
At times he did well, and at times he looked like the same player....panicky. He was inaccurate at times, but the long pass to Hammond was beautiful. He's a walking contradiction, honestly. Your're never quite sure what you are going to get from him on the field.

Off the field? He needs to keep his head in the game. Talking to fans, mugging for the cameras while a game is going on and very much in doubt is not a good look. A QB is supposed to be the leader of the offense. You do not want your offense taking their behavioral cues from him.

He is an erratic quarterback. He has skills and is capable of making plays but he is prone to poor decisions.

He is the quintessential "box of chocolates" quarterback. You don't know what you'll get and sometimes it's a turd wrapped in gold foil.

Thsi si pretty much what we have been told all off season by gator fans, telling us how much Franks would improve because of Mullen.

He will be elite by seasons end with a great chance of being a heisman finalist.

Heavy, heavy sarcasm.

He reminds me of 85% of LSU quarterbacks over the last decade. Pure shite. Close wins bailed out by the defense with a couple of breaks on offense.

He would have fit right in with Les had he honored his verbal commitment to LSU.

Take out one screen where the receiver broke about 5 tackles for a TD and his stats plummet to about 190 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT. Both INT’s were horrendous, esp the second, and came in the 4th quarter. D- at best.

If you take one play away from every QB in any game, the same thing happens to their stats. Stupid

Very. Same thing with any position. Take away a defenders sack/int/forced fumble ect and they had a average game. Just dumb shite

I'm curious to hear what you think "game manager" means. Because that makes zero sense. The main aspect of being a good game manager, is not making poor decisions...

He is the same QB he has always been. He can drive the football down the field and that is when he is at his best. The problem is that in Mullen's system the run game is a mix of QB power, WR screens, and a little from the RB. While Franks is a solid runner, he isnt enough of a threat to bring safties in the box and neither is UFs standard run game which means he has to consistently hit the short to intermediate passes instead of being able to stretch the field. Also, if Franks is even moved off his spot a little bit you may as well stick a fork in that play. Id put Toney back there and go full Nick Marshall offense with him if I were Mullen.

He did okay, his stats were almost Burro-esque. His mental makeup is off kilter for a QB.

Slow runner. Weak arm. Many of his completions came from behind the line of scrimmage. He’s big, that’s about the only thing going for him.

Also, he had a screen pass that went for a 66 yard TD to K. Toney. Miami missed about 5 tackles on that play. Take that play away since the receiver did most of the work, and Franks threw for about 188 yards with 1 TD and 2 INT’s.

He also acts like a douchebag.

He is physically talented. Good arm, size, and running abilities. All the physical tools needed.

He is mentally weak. Jordan Jefferson like. On top of that, he can’t even handle success. Every time Florida had a big play, he acted like an arse.

The only way Mullen gets to Atlanta with Franks is if he buys a ticket

As a Georgia fan, I watched mainly to cheer for Gator injuries.

To anybody except Franks.

We need a healthy Franks for the Cocktail Party.
