with those Kiffin recruits.

Dooley is from the Saban school. Janzen Jackson will probably be next, if I had to guess.

Smart move on his part- get rid of problem players early - and it will buy him an extra season to rebuild with players who understand why they were given a scholly

great. Dooley's a great guy. he kicked someone off the team that nearly beat someone to death. (as i heard it)

that was the "right" move. maybe his ONLY move, but definitely the right one. idk, i just don't understand when praises like this come out when the man clearly had no option anyway. i mean, kudos for him doing it immediately i guess?

anyway, not to demean dooley, because i do think he's a good guy from what we've seen so far. just sayin.

I don't know, I think JJ may be one of the ones that will finally learn from the frickups around him. If he is wise he will straighten up.

I was upset when we didn't land Janzen Jackson. Now I'm thrilled he is not a part of our team.

Dooley recruit, DaRick Rogers was also arrested but not mentioned in the press release. Does this mean he gets a bye or is there more to come?

Difference is Saban brings in big-time talent, while Dooley is replacing them with 3-stars.

He won't last 4 years at Tennessee.

I think he's still gathering information on him.

Hubb's said DaRick would be punished internally, and that he would not be suspended.

I don't think Dooley had much choice in the matter as far as the expulsion.

In the long run, it's for the best. Those kinds of players are detriments to teams more times than not, regardless of talent.

Don't worry, Dooley will get his fair share of "big-time" talent for the star gazers. Just look at what he did in two weeks time last winter.

I guess time will tell. Just seemed like there was much more momentum/"excitement" around the UT program when Kiffin was there than there is now.

If UT bombs this year and only wins 4 or 5 games I think he's going to have his work cut out for him.

Dooly will do a good job. Kiff loved promoting himself more than anyone else.
Saban knows Dooley will be a coached to be reckoned with. He recruited very well at La Tech with the smallest budget in the WAC. I would not be surprised to see Vols have a top ten class in '11.
Despite all the bragging about Arky's recruiting and Petrino,I bet UT out recruits them this yr and out performs them on the field the next five years!

Ehh, he won like 4 games in his 3rd year at La Tech. He wouldn't have been on anyone's radar if his last name wasn't Dooley and he hadn't had the fortune of touching Saban once. Would UT really have hired a Derek Smith coming off of a 4-8 season at La Tech?

Seems like a nice guy but that doesn't win football games. Unfortunately for UT they're going to have to learn their lesson like we did with Shula. 4 years, tops.

Dooley kinda reminds me of Shula, but without the sanctions handcuffing him. Seems like a good guy and he won't embarrass the program off the field, but I think he might be in a little over his head in the SEC. There are no sanctions to worry about, but they are still in a pretty bad situation in regards to the roster. There isn't a lot of depth and he is having to get rid of all the Kiffbitch thugs. I wouldn't hate UTk with Dooley as their coach the way I hated them with Fulmer and Kiffen, but I just don't see him doing much better than about 8-4 or 9-3.

What lesson?

You guys hired Shula so you wouldn't have to hire a black. That the lesson you are referring to?
