Florida is a completely different team. Golden moved Fland off ball and Lee primarily on-ball PG type role. They both have played way better since. Also Brown and Klavzar have become huge off the bench. They did not have established roles back in November.

The Big Ten and Big 12 gap it hard this year. Analytics wise it is stronger than the ACC though so third isn't bad despite the large gap between the top 2 and the SEC.

Every good team is better than in December. That doesn't mean anything.

TBF, the Florida program was a dumpster fire when Billy D picked up and then White Chocolate got kicked off shortly after beating Kentucky at Rupp.

Incredibly hard to do. But I wouldn't have expected a 2 or borderline 1 seed in December.
I always believed Florida would figure it out, and I stated that they were starting to after the Tennessee game. Florida has gotten better as has Duke and Arizona, so it should be fun,

Don’t care. Billy D is a legend.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a coach with such a meh head coaching resume just absolutely turn it tf on out of nowhere like Golden at Florida. It absolutely proves why the interview process is equally as important as in game production when hiring a coach. It’s really amazing and it kills me that he was available when we hired McMahon. The scary part is he could be at Florida for another 25-30 years if he chose to.

They’re clearly good enough to win again, which sucks, cuz Todd is a massive pos.

They are dominant on the glass and play suffocating defense. Even on an average shooting night, they are going to be an incredibly difficult task for anyone. I honestly think they could be better than last years squad.

We lost by 1 to Duke early in the season when our guards were playing like absolute dog shite. They've improved incredibly since then. Not to the level of our guards last year, but our bigs are more dominant than last year. I like our chances against them in a rematch in March. Similar situation with Arizona and Uconn. Michigan is the biggest threat IMO.

Yep, I don't have confidence we'd run through any of them, but I also didn't last year.
Key this year is the guards are "fine" in the tournament, but our bigs have to play lights out. We just can't lose from our backcourt.

I'll be the first to admit I shite on Lee and Fland early in the season because they looked really bad. But they've both been playing really well and efficient for awhile now, especially Lee. Lee is averaging nearly 15 pts/6 asts a game while shooting something like 55% from the field over his last 7 games. He's also been good at running the offense and really pushing the pace.
Compared to our bigs, yes, the guards probably are still the weakness and what could prevent us from repeating if they shrink in the tournament. But looking at the other title contenders that have separated themselves from the pack (Duke, Arizona, Michigan, and UConn), I'm not seeing any of this supposed elite guard play that's head and shoulders above ours?

I think there's a lot of fool's gold in there as well with the SEC being weak and UF getting every big game at home. One ranked road win and that was Vandy by 4. Every other game was at home which is just completely meaningless come neutral courts in March. The SEC did the Gators no favors there while other teams in the Big 10 and Big 12 are playing big games away from home every week.
Arizona and Houston both have top 10 projected picks at guard. Evans for Duke #21.

Not sure that the SEC did Florida "favors", but they did get Bama (lol), Arky, and Tennessee at home with no return game. SEC is not the grind that it was last year, but Florida is ELITE. There are five teams that can win it IMO, and I think Florida and Duke are at the top. Duke is playing as well as Florida, IMO. Duke plays with fewer possessions (SEC plays faster/has more possessions than the ACC in general), so scores are lower. In the last three games, Florida averaged ~101 ppg, but opponents scored 74 ppg, and no fewer than 71 points (one ranked team at home, one road game). Duke scored only 90 ppg, but opponents scored only 57 ppg, no more than 64 points (one ranked team at home, two road games).
That said, I have always stated that any team could lose in the second round, because by then, you're playing a top 30 team, and anything could happen. I mean, UCONN was close to beating Florida until WCJ took over.
