Peaking? Gus is a beast, he'll have his guys ready to go.

Yep, I meant peaking
Teams peak all the time

Auburn improved has the season continue and was peaking the highest at seasons end. Not an insult, but something teams do all the time in sports.......

Hope so. We just had so much momentum late in the year. Pat Dye used to say you can only get a team to play at an emotional peak a few times a year and it is something that has to be built toward over a period of time. The 1983 season was a good example. AU closed the season against 4 highly ranked teams and Dye even said no one wants any part of AU right now. Then we came out against Michigan with a NC on the line and played a poor game, but pulled it out with a late fg. Just couldn't get back to that late season peak.

AU was there a few weeks ago. We will see if AU can get back there again for this one.

They'll be even better with the time off to work on perfecting what they do already and can add some things to the offense that Florida State hasn't seen already. Nick Marshall wasn't even in Spring practice. I like Malzahn with the time off as much as Florida State might like Fisher with the time off.

Also, AU was peaking a few weeks ago. I would have felt great about winning right after the SECCG. The time off is just a huge wildcard. I see the game as a toss up, it is just I would be predicting an AU win if it had been played say, last weekend.

I think you understand the luck factor well. When you have the wind at your back like AU did in November you want to strike while its still blowing. So, now you are just going to have to fight it out. Toe-to-toe with another Bama level team "sans" the luck factor. I can't say its a toss up but you got at least a punchers chance.

The difference is the strange factor. Auburn had the advantage each week because their opponents hadn't seen anything like AU's offense. So, the added time off to prepare for that strangeness benefits FSU more. You need time to get ready for that shite.

It's definitely a possibility.

Here's the big question.
Is Alabama's offense even remotely comparable to Florida State's?
Alabama's offense this year hasn't been that great.
On the other hand, Florida State has always managed to overcome slow starts and win by at least 2 possessions. I know Auburn will be their toughest test, but the comparisons between Florida State and Alabama seem pretty stupid in my opinion. Alabama's offense and defense were below the Alabama standard this season.
