Nah. He was done before that. Lucking into Trask just extended his shelf life.
The fact that the guy started Franks over Trask for as long as he did was indicative of the same stubbornness that did him. Too stubborn to recruit. Too stubborn to move on from ineffective assistants. Too stubborn to start the right QB.
It's a cute story, but the shoe didn't do him in.
