Texas wallowed in a damaged B12 with its pride, money, and ego for most of the peak of college football, wasting away some of the best years we all enjoyed in the SEC. Then, just as the whole sport began collapsing, you show up very late to the party out of desperation and wonder why it doesn’t feel as great as you thought it would.
The current SEC atmosphere is a shell of its former self. Money dominates everything now, but it used to be a constant battle of huge personalities, recruiting wars, and dominant defenses crushing each other until whoever survived was the auto-national champ.

I'd say I miss Texas being good, but for that they'd have to have been good for more than a season or two in a row.
