The only difference between them is uga didn’t try to score almost 50 on them

Yeah, I think that's exactly where we're at.

SEC gets 2 teams in. UGA is one of them. It's either UGA and Tennessee, or UGA and LSU.

LSU has that chance, because despite everything else they will say is important, here's the real issue:
Georgia is the heavy favorite, and "who can beat them" will be a big deal. If LSU is 11-2 and SEC Champ, that means they actually just did beat them.

I don't think we (LSU) can swing that, so I think Tennessee is the likely #3, setting up a rematch in the finals.

once again, you and thousands of others only primiarly focus on the SEC as if we're the only conference.

If there are 4 champions of P5 conferences that have 0 or 1 loss, UT isn't going. Not sure why that's so hard to understand.

I have a sneaking suspicion that if both Ohio State and Michigan go into their game undefeated and they play a close game against each other, and the winner then goes on to win the B1G, that both of them will get in and UT will end up getting left out. Call it a deliberate attempt to combat SEC fatigue.

Also that was Lanning's first game ever as a HC.

Heupel has been an HC several years at UCF and in his second year at UTk.

Crazy. If TCU loses to Texas this weekend, it almost works out to a T.

There is a path for them, no doubt. But i think it will take more than you mentioned.

UCLA, USC and Oregon, and Michigan/OSU loser has a say, too.

It wouldn't be the first time a lot of losses happen late in the year, though. I do think it is a good sign that Tennessee is ranked at #5, though.

There is a first time for everything, but have two teams from the same division ever made it to the playoffs?
I am aware that LSU/Alabama played for a title, but not in the playoff era.

Maybe you should meet with the committee Sunday, then. I'm sure they are dying to hear your opinion.

They're #5 in the ranking not exactly a revolutionary idea to see them make it.

Right now, their relative position is super-fluid like everyone else. Other than Georgia (IMHO) positions 2-6 will move up til the last poll is delivered to the public, especially with those that have Conference Championship games.

TCU has the hardest remaining regular season schedule by far of the top 6 teams.

No because most conferences don't have divisions anymore (ACC, Big 12, & Pac 12) Only the SEC and Big 10 do.

I think Notre Dame and Clemson played in the ACC conference game, than both went into the playoffs last season.

Best four teams make the playoffs, not best 4 conference champs. Otherwise Notre Dame, Georgia, & Alabama would not make it past years.

2016 Ohio State went to the playoffs and they didn't even make it to the Big 10 Championship game. Big 10 champ win/loser didn't go, but OSU went.

correct, because the only other choice to put in was a team that had 2 less wins (covid season) and didn't win its division.

false. The best resumes/most deserving make the playoffs.

For what it's worth, I think Penn State makes the playoff that season, if they were an SEC team (or if the Big 10 had been dominating college football instead of the SEC).

2017 Auburn WAS going to make it, if they won in Atlanta. Committee had them at #2 going into that game.
