On vacation until Tuesday.
Don’t feel like incorporating that homosapien into it. Not even sure what he’s babbling about in this thread.

Okra is from Africa. Nasty unless fried.

I'm sure alot of people have been on vacation and been online here. That's not out of the ordinary.

It may be, but I like okra in my gumbo.
Just a personal preference.

No onions or celery?
One of these is the key to cooking, the other is a cheap filler foisted on the masses by business. If you can not figure out which is which then you have taken the hook.
If it helps, look at basic foods
Gumbo
Meatloaf
Bean soup
Marinara sauce
Omelets
Only 1 belongs and the other is an interloper promoted by California growers
Wake up Merica!

So what! That doesn't make you an expert on making gumbo.

I'll take the Pepsi challenge with that bull shite any day of the week.
Go take the Bobby Flay challenge!

I do enjoy a dab of potatoe salad in my gumbo. Different strokes for different folks.

But it does mean he likely knows his rice. And skeeters.

IF you have never eaten Gullah cuisine, my advice is to sit down, shut up, and learn from those who have.

My only contribution to this thread is if you want good Cajun food, let a Cajun cook it for you. Company I used to work for held a community event every year and served jambalaya that was cooked by a pure blooded giant Cajun man with the last name Rousseau. It was divine.
